A mission with the bats.

————two months later————After me and Damian and tim... got back from school, we were immediately told we have another mission, I know my breath was sharp, but I didn't let that stop me from nodding my head, i mean I have been going on patrol and training with Damian I should be fine. I went and put on my suit. Then walked down to the cave and started stretching and getting ready for this mission. Damian came down and walked up to me,"Shadow, are you ok?" I turn around , and harshly reply,"why wouldn't I be." That didn't sound believable at all. He looked at me as if questioning what he was about to do, before he walked over to me and pulled me to his chest. His face was clearly ablaze. Then again mine was too. We stood there for a second," are you mad at me." He ask me,"Nonononono, this is just the first actual mission I'm going on since my first mission, and we both remember how that went." I say quiet, trying not to sound agitated as I say the first mission. I really don't want that to happen again. Even if it didn't go as bad as it could have, it still was really horrible. Damian shoves his head in my shoulder and says,"I'll never let something like that happen to you again, I should have been there, I should have followed that...foul creature. He shouldn't have gotten that close to you, that repulsive man shouldn't even be alive."I snuggle my head into his shoulder as well. We stand there like that for a while before Tim comes down and says,"Holy shit, demons not killing you." I feel Damian growl, I glare at tim,"he's not a demon." Tim shrugs,"so you guys are doing the drug bust?" I smirk,"I guess we are." Tim briefs us, and we get ready knowing exactly what we are going to do. Damian goes to his robin cycle or what ever... I just stand there,"Hey shadow," I look at tim, he's pointing at Damian. I look over at Damian, he's holding a spare helmet out to me. I run over,"thanks dami." She smirks. I put on the helmet, and sling myself onto the back over the side. Once I'm on, Damian does his 0 to 60.  I was very frightened at first, and didn't notice that I had shoved my head into damians back, nor that I had wrapped my arms around him. That is until we stop, and he moves a little, " hey shadow, you alright." I let go,"yeah, that was awesome. I can't wait to do it again," he smirks,"well we have the ride back." Immediately I regret what I said. Then I say,"so we're already here?" He nods,"quiet." I get quiet. I follow behind him slowly shifting my weight between my feet, to stay as quiet as I can. We turn a corner and he signals for me to stop. I freeze," there's about 50 of them, 20 with guns." I nod,"so we call for back up.l" he shakes his head,"no we get ready." I freeze up,"wha-" he cuts me off,"Now." In an instant, everyone is watching as we run at them, then the guns are aimed at us. I duck behind a box, and pull out some of the throwing knives that Richard gave me. While they are reloading, I swing around and throw the knives, most hit there mark, I run at the man I didn't hit, and knock the gun out of his hand."nope." I then run at the other 7 who are scrambling for their guns, I notice their in vests, and pick up one of the guns,  as I run I hit their vests, and that gives me enough time to knock them all out. When I'm finished with about 20ish guys in all I turn to Damian. He just looks at me, suddenly I realize why he looks so horrified, I see a lot of blood, I know some is mine, but that's not what worried me, Damian was shot.more than once.I quickly rain down he'll on the guy that did it. Then I run at him,"Robin, ROBIN." He sits there,"Kung" is what he says. It must have hit his lung. I have to get him back to the cave. I call for his cycle, I prop him against my side. "Hey, HEY, you're going to be alright ok." He he scoffs,"I know that," he try's to say, but it sounds like he's suffocating. I get him on the back of the cycle, and radio the cave,"prep the med bay." I say and wait for a response, there is non. I speed off with Damian on the back."I holler over the sound of the bike,"Prep the med bay emergency." Still no response, I don't know how fast I'm going, but every thing is blurred. I get to the cave. When I slam the breaks, I go forward, the handle bar notifies me I was stabbed in the side, but that's not my concern right now. I lift Damian as much as I can, and rush him  to the med bay, I lay him down,"What's your blood type? Hey , HEY you need to stay awake. Now. Whats.your. blood.type?" He tells me, and I get some of the blood bags, I set up an I've and give it to him, I don't know how to do surgery. I set up a heart monitor, it's going super fast. "ALFRED, SOMEONE!PLEASE HELP...help" I sit there and cry, trying to get to the bullet, I pull it out, things go crazy from there, Bruce busts into the cave, he sees me , and starts to run,"What happened." He says angry,"I tried to call...no one answered...I...i don't know what to do...it hit his lung...you have to help him...please." Bruce tells me to leave, I'm drenched in "blood, so much blood,I didn't know people even had that much blood." I say while leaving. Tim sees me and runs over,"Hey what happened, who's blood is that." I'm still stuck on the blood,"hey are you bleeding." Still thinking of the blood,"yeah." I say..."I think I'm in shock. There was so much blood, I didn't know Damian could bleed that much, I...nobody answered.God so much blood." Tim stares at me,"Y/n you're scaring me, what happened, why are you bleeding, what happened to Damian." I stare at the ground in front of me,"he was shot a couple of times, one hit his lung...oh god what if he doesn't make it...what am I going to do...I'm so sorry." I sink to the ground and a sob leaves my lips," I should*hic* have been able to save him*hic*if I wasn't so distracted*hic* all that blood." I lean forward ignoring my pains and shove my palms into my eyes, but that just makes the image stronger.
