09.𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨

On Wednesday Baekhyun was only greeted by Minseok at the end of his work day, the wolves were missing. Minseok just gave him a little smile.

“Let’s spend a best friend afternoon okay ? It’s a great opportunity” said Minseok while they walked towards the gym.

“Isn’t Chanyeol your best friend ?” asked Baekhyun with a frown , perplexed.

“Well he’s more like a brother, you’re my true best friend ! I don’t have the same friendship with the two of you”.

Baekhyun looked at Minseok for a moment, noticing the smile Minseok was flashing didn’t reach his eyes. He decided to push the thought aside, because he wasn’t someone to intrude in other’s privacy. He was still a little bit tense since Saturday, the hunters had been too close from the wolves. Once in their practice room Minseok began to stretch.

“Hey Baek, do you mind if I miss Friday’s practice ? I need to help Suho cook he got a big order for a wedding. I need to make a couple hundred cupcakes.”

Baekhyun rolled his neck before stepping in front of Minseok.

“Sure” he simply replied.

“Don’t worry, I’ll save one for you” Minseok winked.

He felt weird, being here without the three other wolves to comment or help them was a little strange. He became used to having them around even if he wished sometimes to kill them with Minseok because they were a bunch of strange people.

They started to spare, Minseok was getting better and better and Baekhyun was pleased to see his improvements. They fought and laughed because Minseok took the opportunity to fool around more than usual. At the end Baekhyun was straddling Minseok who was facing the ground, struggling to get the hunter off his back.

“Sorry dwarf, you’re not strong enough. Maybe when you’ll be a grown man you’ll be able to beat me”

“Yah Baekhyun you are the meanest person I have ever encountered !!” whined Minseok.

“I thought I was your best friend” teased Baekhyun.

“Oh that hasn’t changed, I just chose the meanest man on earth to be my bestie”

Baekhyun laughed at that and stood up, but Minseok was still laying on the ground. Baekhyun poked him with his foot.

“Get up, we’re not done”

“Let me enjoy, I just make you laugh, it doesn’t happen every day you know ?”

Baekhyun rolled his eyes and helped the blonde haired man get up.

Friday evening came, Baekhyun left his work not feeling good. Since yesterday he was tired, his heart was even more painful than usual and his body was sore. Stepping outside of the complex he worked at, he stretched his arms above his head, sighing heavily.

A headache threatened to invade his mind and he didn’t want to train in those conditions. He decided he should go home and rest. Maybe he had caught a cold. He was about to walk away when he finally noticed Jongdae casually leaning against the complex’s wall. The alpha seemed to be waiting for him, his hand in his jacket’s pockets.

Baekhyun watched him straightened and coming closer. They stood silently in front of each other, Baekhyun's waiting for Jongdae to speak first. The alpha sighed before staring into the hunter’s eyes. Baekhyun was surprised to see the dark glare he was receiving.

“You’re stupid and selfish.” Said Jongdae bluntly.

“Thanks. And you’re a sunshine. Listen I don’t have time to play with you, I want to go back home” retorted Baekhyun running a hand through his hair. He was turning away.
