𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑

13. 𝗨𝗻𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀

“Fucking dog” Baekhyun groaned as he ran through the streets, his eyes focused on the black figure in front of him.

He heard a quick breathing beside him and turned his head to see Minhyuk with a dark glint in his eyes. Baekhyun knew that glint for he had seen it many times in the past. People were afraid of Minhyuk when he was acting like that but Baekhyun always thought it was oddly familiar and friendly. Because he knew where it came from. Minhyuk was ready to kill if needed.

They were both clad in black, their footsteps light on the pavement. Tonight they had a mission and currently their target was trying to run away from them. But they were both the best hunters of their clan, so an ordinary wolf was nothing against them. Baekhyun noticed how their target turned left and he smiled darkly.

With a quick wave of his hand, he signed for Minhyuk to continue this way. His friend briefly nodded and Baekhyun turned abruptly in an alley. He jumped over a spilled bin, scared a couple of cats and nearly let out a laugh as the adrenaline was rushing crazily in his veins. It had been a while since his last real hunt and he was with Minhyuk.

The thrill was intact, his mind was set on his mission and his body was aching as he had been running for a good five minutes now. He needed to get the man first because if Minhyuk caught him, Baekhyun wasn’t sure the wolf would be able to talk.

The weather was quite cold so no one lingered too much out. The night had already spread in the sky as it was nearly 11 pm. His breath formed steam in the air. He felt delighted for no good reason, because that chase would probably end up in him beating up a wolf. But he didn’t care at all.

His steps led him to an empty street and he managed to get a glimpse of his target before jumping on it. The wolf snarled and tried to bite him but Baekhyun was quick in his move and put out his dagger.

Minhyuk arrived right after that and they both dragged the wolf back in the alley from where Baekhyun came.  Minhyuk shoved the wolf pretty hard against the wall but the latter fought back.

They ended up being two against one so the wolf lost when Minhyuk held him by the throat, suffocating him while Baekhyun made sure to prevent him from moving. When the wolf stopped fighting back, the two hunters let him slip against the wall and the silence engulfed them.

“What do you want bastards ?” growled the wolf.

“Look at what we have here, an angry little dog” Minhyuk mocked, his gun pointed towards the wolf.

“Without your gun you’re nothing hunter, drop it and fight like a man” replied the wolf.

“But you’re not a man” Minhyuk said darkly.

“Enough” Baekhyun exclaimed with his voice stern.

He shot a pissed off glare to Minhyuk who just shrugged then looked at the wolf.

“Kino, beta. Am I right ?” he asked, staring at the wolf.

The latter nodded cautiously, his eyes narrowed, watching the hunters’ every moves. He was slim, with black hair styled up. His bottom lip was cut in the middle because of the fight and his breathing seemed heavy. But there was no fear in his eyes, only hatred.

“Listen, we only want some information from you” Baekhyun told him, his dagger still in view.

“What could I know that has something to do with two hunters ?” asked Kino with a smug look.

Baekhyun smirked, apparently that wolf thought he had something on them, but he shouldn’t play with hunters. Too bad Baekhyun needed to teach him a lesson. One swift movement of the wrist and a superficial cut appeared on the wolf’s left cheek. Kino winced and snarled, barring his teeth.
