[For those who don't read the author's note below: #Blacklivesmatter never forget that everyone's lives matter and it doesn't matter what's your skin color, or your nationality, everyone is important]
Once again, I was back at the company where all 6 of us will meet with each other and know one another as if we all weren't acquaintances back then.
We all went to one of the meeting rooms located at a building. It was spacious but wasn't as big as the one we used yesterday. All 4 of us were already seated at the chairs while 2 others were still missing, one being Damian and the other being Ace.
We all discussed some songs we would want to sing for our debut while we waited for the other two. We chose a song I wrote last night, it was about child who attempted suicide and unfortunately succeeded because of racism and the song asking if we could have done something to prevent it.
It's something seen in our country nowadays, even the political system doesn't realize how crucial racism's impact is on one's mentality, knowing they could have prevented the child to commit taking his or her own life, they didn't stop they continued racism without any knowledge how much impact it has especially to kids who aren't accepted in society because of their race and that's just wrong.
Right before we decided to continue brainstorming about the song, we all looked at the door which swung open reveling two talk men, Ace and Damian. I can't help but look at Ace, he was taller and had a more defined body as opposed to last time and yet he still had the same style and look as he had before.
He sat next to Chase as we continued to brainstorm about the song and yet I continued to be mesmerized by him. He still was very serious about his music and I was happy about that, he didn't forget about his passion, it was his only constant in life and I was happy he found something to grab onto after the pain he felt.
"How about this?" Chase asked as he hummed a tune for the song while I didn't respond still mesmerized by Ace
"Laiyllah!" Ash shouted causing me to almost lose balance from my chair
"What?" I asked as I went back to brainstorming with the song
"I asked about the tune" Chase answered as he hummed once again while I nodded
"How about changing the tune on this one Luna?" Damian asked as my eyes grew bigger as I heard my nickname from one of my former best friend after a long time
"Are you friends with Damian, Laiyllah?" Azure asked in which Damian quickly answered 'no' to
"We're not, just acquaintances, forgive me it slipped from my mouth" Damian spoke as he smiled awkwardly
His tone changed, it was different from the carefree and ecstatic tone I've heard years ago. It changed to this elegant and poise voice, he was different both of them are.
We decided to record a demo for the song just to give us an idea, of course none of us wanted to do it but one of us had to. In the end Ash decided to play rock, paper, scissors, to decided our fates and fate wasn't on my side.
"Alright I'll go" I spoke as I made my way to the recording booth.
"So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?
If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather
So, before you go
Was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
So, before you go~"I sang with so much emotion, seeing all those people get hurt just because of their race was horrible. No one deserved to get judge by their appearance, no one should die because of it. People are horrible, they commit murder without being guilty about it.
