Because i'm a liar

We pulled into the hotel and had to unload everything from the back of the SUV. "What if everything doesn't fit in the back of here?" I asked. "Oh i know!  We can just ask Jackson to help us. He has a truck and we can load more stuff." Hunter suggested pulling his phone out. "Well why did we order so much stuff anyways?" I asked. "Because you only get married once?" He shrugged. Yes, but not everyone. I took those vows seriously. I've gotten into debates, what if he cheats or beats? Then I don't know. And maybe that sounds callous. But maybe people really do change. And if they do then it's up to you as a couple to work it out.

I do however understand that no marriage is perfect. Not only have we gotten into tiny arguments, we will again. I think were still in that honey moon/ trying to impress each other stage. After I pulled the last bag from the trunk I closed it and hauled it inside. Hunter saw me coming and reached out to take it with his cell phone cradled between his ear and shoulder.

"No that would be perfect, I'll text you. Thanks man." He said hanging up. "Okay he's in, but he's still giving me flack about the bachelor party." He said shaking his head. He scooped up the room key and we walked out to the SUV to head to his parents house. "Still? Meh maybe he'll like the spa so much he'll b a changed man." I said giggling. "I doubt it, but he can suck it up. It's really a good idea for both parties to be together." He said. "Maybe it was. You know Taylor is still being...well Taylor." I said.

"Oh I meant to ask you! How did her date go?" Hunter asked. I shook my head. "I'm not even sure myself. She only went out with him to make Jackson jealous." I said. "That's sad. But can you blame him?" "Yes and no. Yes being long distance is hard. But it's not to say they can't make it. If he really liked her maybe he would've tried harder." I said. "Then if you would have left why couldn't we have tried harder?" He asked. "That's speculation anyways. But I think it's different. Not only would you not be around you'd be busy. Busier than Jackson and Taylor. I don't know." I sighed. "I am a romantic at heart. I hate this for her because she's hurt and all she can think to do is make the poor boy jealous." I said.

"But it might work on him. Jackson is just as stubborn it's why they hit it off. If she had said 'hey I don't wanna take a break, I wanna make this work.' he would've felt tied down." Hunter said taking a right. "Yes I guess so, I just hate it for them. Would you rather go mud riding or something manly with the guys?" I asked. "Absolutely not I wanna go get in mud alright but one of those mud bath things..." Hunter said. I giggled. "Okay then. But thanks for doing this it's really great." I said. "No problem, and if I had let Jackson plan it. We'd be at a tacky strip joint." He shuddered. "Oh that's just scary." I said.

                                                              ------------------------------------------

Hunter knocked on his parents door. His mom answered. "Oh my babies!!" She pulled him into a tearful hug. "I missed you my baby boy." Only child. "And you get in here. I missed you too. Although I was hoping to come up to Nashville and help with the wedding plans." Said Lynette. Why didn't I call you? Because I'm a liar. A bad person. I've lied to everyone and don't think I can tell you what we did. We'll just look stupid. "Come in, come in. I've got dinner cooked and ready." She said.

She had cooked a big pot of spaghetti and it smelled wonderful. My breakfast was long gone. Hunters dad got up from the chair once we walked in. He gave us a both a hug and told us how proud he was we were getting married. Even that he really liked me. I felt better at that. Because to be fair we did it all wrong. We hurt his family and mine. They never met the girl he was dating never got a say. Not that it would've mattered but still. That's just not the way you do things. They didn't meet Hunter's girlfriend they met his wife. And getting married again was just as much for us as it was for them.

After the spaghetti had all been dished out the conversations picked up. From Hunter's album dropping to my fashion line coming out. To how we'd handle tour and maybe even when we'll give them some grand-babies. "You can't rush it hun. It'll happen when it happens. Besides they live so far away we'd never see them babies anyways." Leo said. Lynette chuckled. "I may not be seeing you for a while. I'm gonna get all those sweet baby lovings I can get." Lynette said.

"Mom, can we hold off on the babies we haven't even had the wedding yet." Hunter said. "Okay fine, but I'm just so happy." She said clasping her hands together. "Me too." I agreed. We finished the pasta and they helped us get the SUV loaded down. Jackson had shown up with his truck. "Hey." He said to me. "What's up?" I asked. "How's Taylor?" He asked. "Oh! She's good." I said. "Good, I uh you know..." He scratched the back of his neck unsure of what to say. "You miss her?" I asked. "Something like that." He said. He loaded up another decoration into his truck not saying anything else. I got a picture of him mid moving and his muscles were on full display.

I sent it to Taylor. "He asked about you." I said. She texted back. "Oh well he shouldn't have. He's the one who dumped me." Taylor said. "Look new plan. Don't bring a date. Dress to kill and then see how he feels. He said he missed you." I said. "Well dang I miss him to but I also didn't dump him!" Taylor said. She's right, of course she is but she's also not cutting him any slack. "Look maybe just don't be so hard on him. He did what he thought was best. You can make trips to see him and he can come see you it's not the end of the world." I said.

"Maybe, but it hurt me okay? So I'm sorry if I don't forgive him right away." Taylor said. "You can stay mad as long as you want. Just wanted you to know." I said. The last of the things had been loaded up. We told his parents good bye and that we'd see them Saturday evening.  We were off to drop of the stuff into the shop.
