FINN'S POV

Nathan was wearing suit pants, a button-down shirt, and in his hands was the suit's jacket. Brushy brow raised, he looked amused but also mysterious, sort of like when a predator catches its prey.

In this case, Nathan is the predator and I'm his prey.

I thought I ran away from him but clearly not...although I can see a few faded wet spots on his jacket. Technically my plan still worked, though, right? It made me feel better despite knowing that I would end up six feet under ground because it worked.

The guy—whose name I still didn't know—was staring between Nathan and I. Much to my displeasure, Nathan brought a chair and sat right next to me. He, too, was glancing between me and the other guy.

"Ahem, well this is a tad bit awkward, hm?" I mumbled, attempting to chuckle. I didn't bother looking at either of them in the eyes because I was nervous as heck, so instead I just began fidgeting with my hands. It was silent for a couple more seconds so I stood up and got ready to leave. "Well, I'm just gonna go n—"

"Stay," Nathan interrupted me, glancing my way. His gaze was hard and told me that he wasn't playing around.

Not wanting to anger the mutated lion, I slowly sat back down in my seat very cautiously.

"So, this is your roommate, huh, cutie?" the worker asked. My eyes widened at his choice of words (I'm not cute!) but I answered him regardless.

"Yeah. Also, um, what's your name, again? I just realized I never asked." I hoped that conversing with him would waste time.

"Alejandro," he answered, "though I prefer to be called Ro, if you don't mind, of course."

"A-ah, okay, Ro. I'm Finn, if I didn't tell you already." I nervously chuckled while studying the plain table.

Suddenly Ro leaned in closer to me. He looked Nathan in the eyes with amusement before whispering, "Finn...we're still gonna go on that date I mentioned earlier, right?"

My eyes widened. What date? We never talked about a date or anything. Right...?

Before I could respond, Nathan slammed the table with both his hands. I turned to him with wide eyes and was a bit puzzled to see that he looked calm in a scary way. So calm. Very so calm.

"Hm, date? And when is this date, Finn?" he asked me, raising a brow. His eyes were on Ro so I was confused and didn't know if I should answer him—especially since I didn't even know when our date was because he never asked me out!

"Um—"

"It's actually tomorrow. Finn was too impatient and excited to wait until next weekend, so we decided to have it tomorrow," Ro cut me off. My mouth dropped open since he was totally lying. I didn't even know him like that!

"Really? How odd. I could've sworn Finn and I had a date tomorrow already planned. Right, Finn?" Nathan's eyes were stuck on Ro's though he was talking to me. Meanwhile, my eyes widened furthermore (somehow) and I was speechless.

"Uh, well, I don't re—"

"Oh, really now? Weird. Maybe you have your dates mixed up. Nathan, is it?" Ro taunted. I could practically see smoke coming out from Nathan's ears as his face turned slightly red, but then he managed to cover up his emotions and act calm again.

"I'm pretty sure our date is tomorrow, perhaps it's you who mixed up your dates. Hm, Alejandro?" Nathan replied.

To be quite frank, I didn't know what to do since both Ro and Nathan were glaring each other's heads off and I was just sitting down and watching them do it. It was a bit entertaining, I won't lie, but it still scared me since what if they begin fighting? Would I have to call the cops?
