The Night part 2

THOMAS POV:

Newt started looking for what to eat. Teresa came up stairs. "You're still here" she scuffed. "Ya, I have to watch Tommy. How old is this fruit" asked Newt. "Why" asked Teresa. Newt opened a box of strawberries. They were molding. "Perfect" said Newt. "Perfect how" I asked. "They are expired. That's what I need" said Newt. "Eew" said Teresa. Newt set the strawberries on the counter. "Do you have any expired ice cream and a blender" asked Newt. "Cabinet and the ice cream is in the grogde" I said. "You mean that chocolate ice cream" asked Teresa sarcastically. "Ice cream expires Teresa" I said. "No it doesn't" said Teresa. "It does" said Newt. "Why do it matter. What are you using it for anyway" asked Teresa. "Breakfast" said Newt. "It's expired" said Teresa. "Shut up. You aren't eating it" said Newt. "Good" said Teresa. Newt made the smoothie and sat with me on the couch. "After eat I'm taking you to the zombie town" said Newt. "Zombie town" I asked. "Ya, it's under the capital" said Newt. "ABSOLUTELY NOT. THAT IS 3 HOURS AWAY" Teresa yelled. "Tommy has to go" said Newt.

"No, he is staying here. He can't go with some freak. You're lucky I'm even letting you stay here" said Teresa. "Even if you stop me from going I will go some day. You can't control my life" I said. "Why do you trust him Tom? He is a freak. He ate you last night" said Teresa angrily. "I know, but, it's hard to explain" I said. "Sure it is" said Teresa. "Just eat the smootie Tommy. We will discuss this later" said Newt. I signed and slowly took a sip of my smoothie. It tasted amazing. I drink the smoothie and Teresa made her own breakfast. After she finished she went back down stairs. Newt and I finished the smoothies and laid down. "So, what can I do today" I asked. "Not much. Does your chest or anything hurt" asked Newt. "No" I said. "Good that, I'll teach you how to find food later. It has to be raw or moldy" said Newt. "I have some burgers in the freezer" I said. "That works for later. Is there anything else moldy here" asked Newt. "Those sandwiches probably are" I said. "Okay, we can worry about that later. Let's just rest" said Newt.

"What exactly did you do to me" I asked. "Turned some of your organs into zombie organs" said Newt. "Oh, so I guess I'm part zombie now" I said. "Sorry" said Newt. "It's fine. I didn't have much for a human life anyway. However why does the food have to be raw or expired" I asked. "I don't know the bloody science behind it but I do know that you can't handle human food anymore. It's too fresh and your body won't like it" said Newt. "I wonder if that's why I'm craving expired blue berries" I said. "What time does Teresa leave" asked Newt. "Usually late. Why" I asked. "We can sneak out and buy some blue berries later. I can also show you how to make them expire faster" said Newt. "Sounds good but how long are you staying" I asked. "Well when do your parents come back" asked Newt. "Not for a few days" I said. "Good, I'll just stay till they come back. Now you rest. I'll make a shopping list and show you how to store everything. Also you shouldn't have allergies as a zombie" said Newt. "Wait really" I asked. "Ya, it's mostly the bacteria so you are at lower risk" said Newt.
