George's POV:
The heat of the lightsaber caused a sweat to break out on my neck. It was temporary, but boy did those things put off a lot of heat!
Master Yoda had just severed my Padawan braid, meaning I had passed my Trials.
"Ready, you are," he said. "To become a knight, your time has come."
I knew I must have looked extremely stupid with a huge smile plastered to my face, but I couldn't help it. After 19 years, my time had finally come.
It would be better if I could have done this with... I thought. Pushing those thoughts aside, I stood, bowed before the Jedi Council, and walked out of the door.
My old Master, Obi Wan, followed me out. I immediately turned and gave him the biggest hug I could muster. He grunted in surprise before gently hugging back.
"Thank you so much," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Obi Wan simply smiled and released me from the hug.
"Believe it or not, George, you actually get your first assignment tomorrow," he said.
I was ecstatic. "Really?"
He nodded. "You will learn more from the council tomorrow morning. Don't be late," he said, now walking down the hall. I turned and began to head the other direction, towards my living quarters. But before I returned home, I decided to visit a friend to tell him the great news.
"YOU PASSED THE TRIALS?" Sapnap basically screamed.
"Shhh Sap! Your gonna wake all of your neighbors," I said, sitting down on Sapnap's bed. "But yes, I did pass."
Sapnap pulled his friend into a tight hug and mumbled, "I'm so proud of you."
I patted his back. "Don't worry Sap, you'll get your trials soon enough. Honestly, I thought you would get them before me!"
Sapnap scoffed. "Yeah, right. You were always top of the class, well, always after..." his voice trailed off. But I knew who he was talking about. The silence killing me, I muttered his name, one I had not said in years.
"Clay..."
