George woke up, but still felt sleep weighing down on him like a heavy blanket. He wanted to open his eyes, but felt so, so tired. It felt like he was floating.

Am I dead? He thought. He had always been curious about what death would be like, but he never imagined it would be anything like this.

After a few minutes, he managed to open his eyes. He immediately started panicking. He was completely surrounded by water, floating inside of a glass tank. It was strange, he felt like he was drowning, but he was somehow able to breath.

Moments later, water began to drain from the tank. As the water level decreased, George got closer and closer to the ground below him, his feet eventually touching.

It was reassuring to be able to feel the simple comfort of standing again. But the question still crashed through George's brain: Where exactly am I?

His question was quickly answered when the door to the tank opened, revealing a medical droid and a very worried Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan helped George out of the tank, immediately wrapping him up in a thick towel before having him sit down on a hospital bed that was sitting in the corner of the room.

"What...happened?" George began. His memory of the day before was there, but it was fuzzy. It felt almost like a nightmare that had never actually happened.

"Well, how much do you remember?" Obi-Wan asked in return.

George took in a deep breath. "I was...taken. Then, Master Windu and Sapnap came to rescue me..." his voice trailed off and his gaze fell to the floor. "Master Windu died and Sapnap..." He looked to Obi-Wan for an answer, his heart wrenching at the thought of anything happening to his friend.

"Sapnap is alive, but," Obi-Wan sighed. "He's not in great shape."

"Can I see him?" George asked, sitting up a little.

"That should be fine. The droid will have to check your vitals one more time, then we can get you dressed and get out of here." George nodded as Obi-Wan stepped out of the room.

As the droid was finishing checking up on George, Obi-Wan walked back into the room carrying pants and a lightweight shirt for George to put on.

George took the clothes from Obi-Wan, stepping behind a thin wall so he could have some privacy.

Obi-Wan spoke to him from the other side. "I've never been so worried in my entire life," he said. George wasn't sure what to say in response, so he just chose to remain quiet.

"You and Sapnap mean so much to me. And Mace..." his voice trailed off. But his words were clear. He had almost lost everything to Dream.

George, now dressed, hobbled out from behind the privacy wall. "There's nothing you could have done. It's going to be okay."

George tried to put some truth behind his words, but deep down he knew that this was just the beginning. And Dream was growing stronger and stronger every single day.

"It's just down the hall here. I made sure they put you two in the same wing so I could check on you both," Obi-Wan said as they walked out of George's room. This brought a smile to his face.

Since George and Clay were taken to the Jedi Temple as young boys, Obi-Wan had looked after them. So saying that Clay turning to the Dark Side hurt was an understatement for both of them.

A few moments later, Obi-Wan stopped in front of a white door that looked no different than the rest.

When the door opened, George was relieved to see his friend. He ran over to his side. But when he got there, he was taken back by the sight.

Just below his left elbow, Sapnap's arm disappeared and was replaced by a mess of metal and wiring.

"Hey, George!" Sapnap said, smiling like everything was okay.

George didn't know what to say. His friend was sitting there, missing half of his arm, and was pretending everything was fine.

Sapnap seemed to have noticed George's persistent stare at the fake arm. "Oh, this? I'm already getting used to it. Look!" He reached over to the table next to his bed and picked up a glass of water. He did it slowly, but he didn't spill any.

"Sapnap...that's great!" George said with a grin. He was so proud of his friend.

"By the way, George, have you seen Master Windu? He hasn't stopped by to visit yet."

Oh no. No one has told him about Master Windu.

George felt his heart drop. He didn't want to have to tell his friend about his Master's death, but it would sound better coming from a friend than from the Council.

"What's wrong, George?"

George sighed and stared at the floor. "Sapnap...I didn't think I was going to be the one to tell you...but Master Windu didn't make it out."
