<<Hello there! It's been a little while since the last chapter. After reading some of the comments, I decided to add on another ending to the story. As with the other alternate ending, this replaces chapter 18 and the epilogue. I hope you all enjoy, this is the ACTUAL last chapter.>>

TW: Violence, Character death, kidnapping

George stumbled backwards. Dream was not a very predictable person, but even this seemed extreme for him. He just stared at Dream's soft expression in shock.

"Why?" George whispered. Dream looked up from his feet, his eyes locking onto George's. His face lacked his characteristic smirk and instead showed the features of a scared, desperate boy.

"I saw it in you at the beginning," Dream said. "I always knew there was something different about you. You weren't like all of the other padawans, you held a strength none of them could even understand. This strength, this power, it flowed for me to. I chose to use the power while you, you built up a dam inside of you to try and hold it back. I know how hard it is, fighting it. George, you can stop the internal struggle now." Dream held out his hand. "Please," he whispered.

George stared at Dream's open palm, studying it as though it would give him the answers. The Jedi, they were supposed to be the peace keepers of the galaxy. But they weren't. The Jedi were liars. The "justice and order" standards were just a front for their climb to power. Everything the Jedi did advanced their struggle for power.

Lies.

"You know I have never lied to you, George," Dream continued. "I always told you the truth, even if it hurt. Even if we were galaxies apart."

George watched carefully as Obi-Wan pressed his brand new saber into his small hand. He looked up at his Master who was smiling down at him. He knelt down to George's level, adjusting his fingers on the hilt.

"You see this, George?" Obi-Wan asked. "This is the reminder of strength for all true Jedi. We are the peace keepers of the galaxy. These sabers, they are not to be used for evil. We use them to maintain order and make the galaxy a safer place by fighting against the Dark Side. By taking this lightsaber, you are making a promise. To not serve yourself, but to serve the galaxy as a Jedi. Do you understand, George?"

Six-year-old George nodded enthusiastically, though he did not really understand the true meaning behind those words. Obi-Wan smiled, patting George on the shoulder before he stood.

//flashback over\\

Lies.

Obi-Wan lied to George from the beginning. He told him the nonexistent truths of the Jedi's intentions with their power. The man who had been like a father since he arrived at the Temple, had lied to him. George clenched his fists. His whole life had been lie after lie. And through it all, Dream had stayed honest. He had been the only reliable thing is George's life, even though he had disappeared for several years. He looked up from Dream's ever still outstretched hand, gazing into his eyes.

These were the eyes of a galaxy-wide hated sadistic murderer. The eyes of someone who had ended countless lives on countless planets. The eyes of someone who had abandoned him and left him trapped in an endless pit of lies and deception. The eyes of someone that, god help him, he could never actually hate.

Footsteps echoed down the hallway behind them, causing George to turn around. Sapnap and Obi-Wan were running his way, but he felt no relief. Instead, he felt anger from the years worth of bull shit the Jedi had told him. Dream started to step forward, but George pushed him back. He was finally going to have his moment outside of the massive shadow of the Jedi Order. He would finally be doing something meaningful.
