Sapnap's eyes were filled with disbelief, pain, and shock.
"But I thought..." His voice trailed off into a choked sob. George stepped forward and pulled him into an embrace. At that point, Sapnap just let the tears fall.
Obi-Wan stood behind the boys, watching their interaction before deciding that he should probably leave. He slipped out of the door quietly, neither of the boys noticing.
After a few more minutes of sobbing, Sapnap pulled back so he could look at George's face while he spoke.
"I thought...maybe it was a dream or something. But I never thought it had actually happened."
George nodded sadly and sat down next to his friend on the bed. They sat in the quiet for a bit before Sapnap spoke up.
"I thought...maybe there was still light in him." He turned to face George. "Clay is gone. Dream killed him."
George had figured this out the moment Dream hurt Sapnap, but it still hurt like hell. The person he had been in love with for years, dead. But he still had to look at his face, even though it wasn't really him. Dream had killed his best friend. George hated Dream.
Even before he stood up, Sapnap could feel the anger radiating off of his friend.
George was already halfway across the room when Sapnap said something.
"George?"
"Yeah?"
"Where are you going?"
George turned around to face Sapnap. "I'm going to the Council to request I go after Dream again."
Sapnap's eyes widened. "You can't! He almost killed 3 Jedi, and he's already overpowered you once. And you're still recovering from your injuries from your last adventure. The Council will never let you go."
George crosses his arms. "Well, Sapitus Napitus, if you are so sure the Council won't let me go, I wont even bother asking."
Sapnap let out a sigh of relief.
"I'll just go without telling them," George finished.
Sapnap's eyes widened again. "Well, then I'm not letting you leave this room. All you are going to do is get hurt." He stretched out his hand, causing the door behind George to close and lock.
George felt bad, but he knew he had to do this. "I'm sorry Sap," he whispered.
He held his hand out, using the Force to reach into Sapnap's mind. He filled his head with a presence of sleep and peace, causing Sapnap to flop over onto his bed, completely unconscious.
With his friend no longer an obstacle in his task, George unlocked the door and ran out of the room, running down the hall as fast as he could with the discomfort in his leg.
He quickly arrived at the door of his apartment. He wanted to leave as soon as possible, but he also didn't want to be ill prepared.
As a Jedi, all he really needed was his lightsaber and the Force. But it never hurt to have an extra robe and some food.
He had a cabinet in the corner of his room filled with meal bars, much like the one he had on the ship a few days prior. He liked to keep some of these in his room for days he just didn't feel like going to the cafeteria, and they were about to become very handy.
George grabbed a satchel from one of his drawers, filling it up with the meal replacements.
All I need now is my lightsaber, George thought. During the rescue, Sapnap had managed to recover George's saber. While the two were unconscious, Obi-Wan returned both of the boys' swords to their rooms. That way, when they were discharged from the Med Wing, their belongings would be waiting for them.
George, still looking at his bag on the floor, felt around on the dresser beside him for his lightsaber.
That's funny, George thought, looking up. I could have swore it was right-
"Looking for this?"
George jumped up and let out a small yelp. He turned, and sure enough, Dream was standing right there, holding his lightsaber loosely in his hand.
"Give it," George growled.
Dream put on a sarcastic frown. "What's wrong George? Did I do something to upset you?"
"You disgust me," George snapped back, his words dripping in venom and hate. But Dream wasn't bothered at all.
"You know, if I really wanted to kill Sapnap, I could have."
George scoffed. "What do you want, a 'Thank you so much for not actually killing my best friend and instead severing his arm'? I don't care what you could have done. You hurt him."
Dream studied George's face for a few moments, taking in all of his features. The smile lines around his mouth and eyes. His small nose. His deep, chocolate colored eyes.
He let out a heavy sigh. He tossed George's lightsaber to him. George looked from the cool cylinder of metal to the boy who had just thrown it to him. He opened his mouth to say something, but Dream was already gone.
