George grabbed his bag of food and booked it out the door. He needed to leave before Sapnap woke up.
With his hood pulled over his face, George slipped into the hangar, unnoticed. He began to make his way towards the back area, the same place he had taken off from a few days prior.
This section of the hangar was, once again, empty aside from a few ships and the occasional mechanic passing through. This was good for George since his plan was to slip out, unseen.
After double checking that no one was nearby, George slipped into an X-Wing that looked like it hadn't been flown in years. He placed his bag behind his seat, touching his belt to make sure his lightsaber was still clipped there. Once he was sure it was, he pulled down the hatch of the ship, beginning to prepare for flight.
He had managed to recover the coordinates of the Sith base from Sapnap's datacron while he was unconscious, slipping into his room without raising any suspicion.
He closed his eyes briefly, sucking in a deep breath. He opened his eyes, reaching forward to input the location of what could very well be his doom.
"Sapnap? Sapnap?"
Sapnap was shaken awake lightly. He opened his eyes to see Obi-wan hovering over him.
"Oh thank the gods you're okay. What happened? Did you black out? Is your arm hurting?"
Even though the situation was serious, Sapnap couldn't help but chuckle lightly at Obi-wan's concern.
He sat up, pushing Obi-wan back a little bit so he could have some space. He took a breath, then looked up at Obi-Wan.
"George is going to hunt down Dream again," Sapnap said. Obi-Wan's expression was a mix of confusion, shock, and concern.
"Wha- are you serious?" Obi-Wan wasn't sure if he should be angry, proud of, or disappointed in his old Padawan. Sure, he shouldn't have gone, but the courage that takes? That was something Obi-Wan was oh so proud of.
"Yeah. He...he made me black out and left. But if we go after him now, we may be able to catch up to him."
Obi-Wan looked at Sapnap. "We? I think you need to stay here and rest."
Sapnap rolled his eyes. "I was just resting. And, no offense, but your probably gonna need me."
Obi-Wan couldn't deny that, so he nodded towards the door. He quickly walked out, Sapnap close behind.
"I'll swing by the Council and tell them that we are leaving," Obi-Wan said as they sped down the corridor.
"Wait!" Sapnap yelled, causing Obi-wan to turn to face him. He paused, looking down sheepishly. "I'm not discharged from the hospital, remember?"
Obi-Wan considered this. "Alright, come on." Together they ran down the hallway towards one of the Temple's hangars.
Being that they were Jedi, no one at the Temple really questioned it when they hopped in a random ship and flew out, almost immediately jumping to hyperspace.
"Since he's thinking irrationally, I would assume he's going to head straight to their evil lair," Obi-Wan said, relaxing a bit in his chair.
The two were quiet for a few moments.
"You know, I really thought there was still some Light left in him," Sapnap muttered, flexing his fake fingers. This got Obi-Wan's attention.
He looked over at Sapnap. Normally, a statement of such meaningfulness would make someone fell something, but Sapnap looked numb to it, almost like he had heard it in his head a million times already.
"No one is ever completely gone," Obi-wan said. He truly did believe that, but it seemed impossible for Dream.
Sapnap sighed loudly and leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes. He quickly drifted off into a heavy sleep.
For Jedi, dreams always held meaning. Whether it was a glimpse of the future or a sign from the Force, all dreams were important. So when Sapnap felt himself enter a dream, he tried his best to focus his currently sleeping brain.
Everything was black. In his dream state, Sapnap opened his eyes. Everything around his was pure black. His body felt like it was floating in the air. He looked down at his body, only to notice that he couldn't see it.
Although everything around him felt like complete emptiness, Sapnap felt something. More like someone.
"Master Windu," Sapnap whispered. He was followed by silence.
He began to lose hope. Maybe this was just a normal dream that normal people have.
Sapnap, his deep voice called out from the abyss. It was like it echoed through his skull, like his mind was hearing the words instead of his ears.
I don't have much time, his ghost continued. No matter what anyone tells you, or how you feel, I need you to promise me you'll do something for me.
Sapnap nodded his head and whispered a small, "Anything".
There was a pause. It's going to be difficult. But this isn't about me, you, George, or The Council anymore, Sapnap. This is much bigger.
He stopped speaking to let his words soak in. Sapnap, I know that I'm asking a lot, but for the sake of the whole universe, I need you to do whatever it takes to kill Dream. Clay is gone, there is no more Light. Can you promise me that Sapnap? That even if it means going against George or The Council?
Sapnap was silent for a long moment. "I promise."
