It's matured so greatly, which is both a pos and neg, because now I get to go back and edit and revise everything after I finish Wsw! Yay!!! Hopefully the newer version will look better after I finish editing it though. I can't believe yall read that book omfg.

The ride to the party was silent besides the light thrum of the engine and the occasional sniffle of our driver. I couldn't keep my arms still even when November placed a gentle hand on my own, giving me a small smile. I felt my gut churn uncomfortably.

I couldn't take knowing that his life could be over in days, or even hours. Kaleb continued to watch me every time I shifted in my seat or swallowed a lump in my throat. His actions lately confused me, and I didn't understand why he wanted to help me.

He obviously had had problems with November, but had something about him changed when he was trying to help me as best he could with what information he could provide?

I didn't have enough time to process and think about it as the limo suddenly jolted to a stop, throwing us all off. I peered through the heavily tinted window and was able to make out a huge mansion with several parties of people already making their way inside.

A strong hand pulled on my shoulder, making my head whip around. Harrison stared at me intently.

"Do not say anything. This invitation was mandatory and ordered. You will act as Kaleb's date for the sake of closure and do not look or speak to November."

I swallowed hard and looked over at November, but his eyes were cast downwards and I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

"Did you hear me, girl?" Harrison growled, making me jump.

"Y-Yes sir..."

"Good. Let's go."

With those last words, Harrison opened the car door and we all filed out one by one.

Kaleb stood beside me with April once we we were all out and linked arms with me when we walked towards the house.

All the people around me made my nerves shoot off like a rocket and my breath to come fast and uneven. I hadn't been around so many people in so long, it was so tempting and yet so terrifying.

Kaleb seemed to notice my averted gaze and quivering body as he drew me closer and gave me a reassuring smile. I was already feeling terribly weak on my knees and feet so, at the moment, I couldn't be more thankful for his thoughtfulness.

I murmur a small thanks and feel better with his warm presence on my side.

Many young women sent glares my way as we past, and I couldn't help but suddenly feel like I was the centre of attention. They obviously didn't like that I was walking with Kaleb, and their attention was attached to us all the way to the door. There was also a lot of attention heading November's way, but that didn't make me feel nervous, it made me feel angry. If only I could walk beside him and switch places with April... then I would have enough confidence to glare right back at them.

Savell and Harrison brought up the rear of our group, and Kaleb and I lead us to the front.

There was a small line, but it quickly passed, and soon we stood right in front of the giant wooden doors which were open to reveal a huge ballroom with thousands of people.
