The consistent ringing in my ears woke me as my eyes fluttered open. I closed them immediately after light filled my retina and shoved my hands over my eyes to block the light out. Under me was a soft, plush mattress and I felt a blanket over my legs. Moving them slightly was painful, and I suddenly realize something was holding them down. Shoving the sheets off of me frantically, memories of what happened came to me in blurs.
I looked around the room and noticed my hands were shackled loosely to the headboard. Shifting my gaze to my feet, they were in the same position as my wrists were. Tears started to build in my eyes, and I tried to calm myself by breathing in slowly with measured breaths. I couldn't over stimulate myself or I could get too paranoid to help myself out of the situation.
Doing a double take, I notice I was in a medium sized bedroom with three white doors and a small window over the bed. A dark wooden floor covered the ground and on it sat a bedside table beside me and a small office desk with a wooden chair by the door on my right.. I glance over at desk and try to turn myself over to try and reach it, but it was near impossible with the shackles.
The door clicked open and I jerk back in my original position and shut my eyes. I couldn't open them, even if it was him I couldn't...
"Hazel," A familiar woman's voice spoke softly to me, almost genuinely sweet. Slowly, I open my eyes and am met with a pair of ocean-blue ones. Her blonde hair was tied back in a loose ponytail and her mascara on point.
It was her, the woman who kidnapped me.
I glance at her hands, which are holding a plate with a delicious looking sandwich on it and in the other a glass of water.
"Go away." I growl, sitting up. I wince as the cuffs on my ankles tug on my skin and let my legs fall away from my chest for relief.
She frowns at me with a sad expression on her face as if I hurt her. She shouldn't be hurting though, she was the one who took me.
"I brought you food--"
"I don't want it." I spat, glaring at her. She narrows her eyes and sets the food on the bed side table.
"You'll want it soon enough." She sighs and stands back up, moving a stray piece of hair on her forehead behind her ear. "Would you like to be more comfortable?" She asks, looking at the cuffs on my wrists.
I continue to stare into her cold blue eyes and not answer. Fear wouldn't take me this time, I wouldn't allow it.
She sighs again and moves to the cuffs on my feet. I watch in silence as she takes a set of silver keys from her coat pocket and place them over the lock. Once in place, she turns it once and the click tells her they are unlocked. Removing them from my ankles, she takes them and tosses them in her pocket.
"Well," She says, wiping her hands on her jeans. "I'll leave you in here to rest. I would like to expect better behavior from you if you want to see November again."
My heart stops at her words and my throat goes dry. "What?" I croak, fighting the shackles still binding my wrists. "Don't hurt him, please! Please don't hurt him. I need him." I plead, my voice shaking.
She simply gives me a small smile. " I won't hurt him, but you never know with..." She pauses, her blue eyes turning a shade darker. "Anyways, get some rest."
And in an instant she disappears out the door, leaving me in a chilling silence. I stare at the door as tears start to stream down my face. Have they brought him here too? Is he still at the apartment wondering where I have gone? Will I see him again?
The thoughts overwhelm me, and I collapse against the headboard in defeat. How could this happen again?
Looking at the food, I reluctantly take the sandwich in my hand and take a small bite as my stomach clenches in hunger. One bite turns into several, and as soon as I knew it it was gone. I slam my fists against the bed and let out a painful cry. As the tears swept down my face sobs wracked my shoulders and my stomach started to plead from eating the food too fast.
