A/N -- For accuracy reasons I changed the place where Natasha's parents live. Part of Chapter 17 has been changed.
-Natasha's POV-
Today Yelena and I are completing the first step on our mission. We are going to scout the Red Room. To my suprise finding the location wasn't at all that difficult. Now we are in a car that Yelena has stolen. We park a mile from the base. A barley noticeable path leads us to the outskirts of the compound. We hide in the snow beneath bare trees. Many guards surround a large chain link fence with barbed wire lining the top.
"Think we can take em?" I joke. Yelena shoots me an eye roll."I think it's best if we go in thorough the side door. The one we would use for missions," Yelena states.
"Ya I agree," I reply. We stay in our spot for another few minutes. Once we get the jist we decide to head back. The first step was almost complete. Almost succesful. That was until Yelena stepped on a stick. Crack. Violent pops are heard. Bullets fly over head. I tackle Yelena into the snow and I hold her head down. The loud crunch of snow underneath combat boots in muffled by the gunshots. Yet, I can hear the yells of men on our tail.
"Come on let's go," I tap on Yelena's shoulder. There is some distance between the guards and us. We army crawl behind a grouping on trees. Then we get up and sprint.
It's not till we are seated in the car and speeding down the road, when I see a vermillion gash of blood, seep through my leather jacket. Instinctually I press my hand over my side. I wince at the pressure I applied. I shrug off my jacket and wrap around my waist.
"der'mo!" (Shit) I hear Yelena shout in Russian."We have to get you to a hospital," Yelena worries.
"No. No hospitals," If I go to a hospital under any of my aliases SHIELD will certainly be able to find me. I need to do this alone. If Nick were to see his best agent was in the hospital, he would surely send in a team. That is not an option.
"What the hell are we going to do then?!" Yelena exclaims. I'm too focused on the blood pooling around me to think. I must of already lost a liter of blood. In only a few minutes I've almost lost 1/4 of my blood volume. I won't last an hour. Shit. Our medical supplies at the apartment are lacking. Even so that's over two hours away. After a few minutes Yelena seems to have an idea,
"I have an idea but I don't think you'll like it," She pulls out her phone and types Shatura into the GPS.-Steve's POV-
When I land in Moscow, I flash my SHIELD I.D to see if I could gain access to Nat's jet. If she is here. To my luck a person in charge leads me to the quinjet. He said after it landed a person hopped out and left. Nat. That confirmed it. Confirmed everthing. Natasha is here. And possibly seeking revenge.
I get a cab strait to the hotel Nat and I were staying in last time. I'm able to book a room with my broken Russian. I throw my stuff down and I break out my computer. I use what I know to find possible leads as to where she could be. I remember she told me about the abandoned apartment where she and Yelena had met up again. I decide that my small knowledge of 'Google' won't be enough. I head down to the lobby where I find a receptionist. She speaks a little English. I ask her about any abandoned buildings around here. She pulls up a news article on her computer about a apartment complex where everyone was evicted many years ago. No one has lived there since. I thank her. It's about 8 blocks from here. That's were I start. The cold wind whips my face as I struggle through the crowded sidewalks. I reminisce on the time Nat and I spent wandering around. I remember how brightly her eyes shined against the snow. Her hair effortlessly framed her face. How her calloused hand felt in mine. That night how I zipped up her dress. How her waist felt in my hands. I get so caught up in the memories I almost pass the building.
It's certainly abandoned. No one in their right mind would consider residing here. No one seems bothered as I break down the front door. I wander up a staircase until I see an open door. I jog into the room. Inside, there is a single matress on the floor. A table with it's chairs pulled away from it. An empty bottle of Vodka. A few items are also scattered around the apartment. Across the table lies a map. On it are three circles. One in black. The apartment I'm in now. One in red. The circle surronds a forest. The third is in a sliver color. The town name reads Shatura.
I decide that the middle of no where isn't the best bet. I decide to follow my first instinct. I skip out of the building and down the street. I find a rental car place. I plug the town name into my GPS. The drive is about two and a half hours.
-Natasha's POV-
When I see Yelena type in the word I begin to protest. That is until my mind goes blank and my vision blurs. I drift into a pain filled sleep.I wake up sometime later. Yelena is dragging me out of the car. She slings one of my arms around her shoulder. As I regain my sense of balance I walk. I see a small house in the middle of the woods. The house has been repainted recently. Cans of drying paint lay around by the front stoop. Yelena places me down at the bottom of the steps, I hear her knock on the door.
"Yelena?" A women asks."What are you doing back here? I thought we had an agreement," She continues.
"I need your help," Yelena says. I grip my side harder as more blood spills out. I look up and lock eyes with the lady. They are a copy of mine. Eyes once filled with desiderium now fulfilled.
