Dangerously in Love

There's an awkward air in between them ever since he asked her for money. It' s like she wants to avoid him but at the same time, she wants to be there for him. She really doesn't know how to react in this situation.  She was in her nail salon getting her nails done in Jakarta. 

Her last text to him was, "Ok." and that's it. She didn't text him anything and he can sense that. 

So then he texted her, "Hey baby. How was your night? " 

Not long, she responded, "I'm good. How was your night?" 

He then tells her that he can't sleep and it's midnight over there at his timezone and he also texted, "I have been thinking of how best to get out of my current problem." 

She responded to him that she will always be there for him as moral support. 

And then he brings up the issue to her, "You hardly even text anymore. I guess it because things aren't working out for me. But it's fine." 

By then, she has finished getting her nails and she was furious about this response from him so then she replied to him, "I think you are taking it out of context. I did say ok last time?" 

Then he tells her that he really needs her facing his current situation, "Baby, if not for anything...I need you now more than ever. I'm passing through a lot. And you know that." 

She then reassures him, "Yes, I'm here baby. I'm here for you but I can't help you financially. I'm going through a lot my self." 

He asked her, "What's going on with you?" 

She explained to him, "You know that I've been out of jobs since March... Events got cancelled and postpone until God knows when and I'm trying to survive here my self." 

He then added, "Because of the coronavirus, yes I know. But babe, for now, you are at your parent's house, they are some stuffs you shouldn't be worried about. Once this virus phase is over, I'm sure you would get back at your feet. You already have an outstanding teaching job." 

She explained, "Yes but this is is not enough for living here. It's just some extra cash. I'm not worried or anything, everything happens for a reason." 

He responded, "I see. Don't worry, once I'm out of this and I come to Indonesia, I would help you out with something you can hold on to. I promise you. I really don't know it was that bad. I could have done something even before all this started." 

She adds, "It's ok baby, I hope you understand it now :)" 

He then added, "If I have my way, it's really nothing for me. It's something that I can do for love. Just to prove to you that I'm always here for you. Baby, I'm so down. Malaria has hit me again. I can hardly move. My secretary would be coming over to the house later today to help me out with some stuff. I'm so down." 

She still cares for him even though he is on his low state at his current situation at the moment. 

"I think it's better that you're focusing on your health first? Because good health is rare?"

He responded, "Yes I know but at the same time, I have to see how best to raise money for my sick mum." he then added, "When would it be possible to get the $100 from you? I need you to purchase something for me to aid in my work. I would see if I can trade today. To make some money." 

She then explained to him of what happened, "This is not possible now... sorry babe... because turns out I haven't started my work in teaching yet :( They postpone it. What do you want to purchase?" 

He didn't guess that she would explain this to him so he responded, "Wow I thought it's something you already had." 

She replied, "Nope :(" 

He then replied to her, "It's fine. Thanks to all the same."      

She still feels awkward with him asking her money. It's something that is against her belief system. He really pushed her to her limits by asking money because she also wants to help him but she doesn't know-how. 

The next day she texted him, "Hey baby, how are you feeling today?" 

Five hours later he replied, "Hey, I'm just trying to survive. I'm fine, thank you." 

She then asked him about his fever, "Has your fever got down?" 

He replied, "Yes, I'm better." 

She felt that he's a bit distant. So she asked him, "Do you still love me after everything?" 

He replied, "After what thing exactly? I really don't have any problem with you. All on my mind at the moment is to see how to raise money for my mum. I really need to concentrate. I'm losing my mum and it hurts knowing I really can't do anything to support her. It's fucked up on my part. This has never happened to me. I just need to set my facts straight. I'm all alone in this. So I guess I just have to face it." 

She understands him and let him focus on his work. 

The next day, she's the one that texted him while he's seemed a bit distant. So she begins to recite a prayer for him and letting him know about it and also she pours her heart out and letting him know how she felt. 

"Baby is there anything wrong with us? I feel like you seemed distant and we have less and less chat and quality time... I still remember you used to call me every day during our first encounter but now it's so rare? I understand that you are super busy and pre-occupied. I'm here for you as moral support. You're not alone in this. I believe that you can make things work. You are super hard working man that I know. Everything is going to be ok. :) x" 

Four hours later he replied, "Oh yes, I do understand that. But babe, I can't just sit and look at my mum die without doing anything. I really have to put everything aside and see how best to work things out. It's obvious I'm alone in this. This is temporal. I hope you do understand that. Probably when I get back on my feet things could get back to normal. But for now, all my mind and attention is on how to raise funds."

She reassures him, "Just know that I love you and I'm here for you if you need to vent or anything...:)" 

He simply replied, "I love you too. Do take a good care of your self tho."

Days went by, passing through time, his mum condition is worsening and has been hospitalized. What then waits for them in the future? Would she finally give him money, trust, and help him?
