A Theory

It feels like you've been staring at your plain old goddamn ceiling for hours. It probably has been to be fair. You're exhausted and can't sleep. So many thoughts overran your mind and kept you awake, stressed and annoyed. You gave up closing your eyes long ago, it felt like you were watching the darkness behind your eyelids and sleep just refused to take over. You turned your head to the side, it's 5am. It's too damn early to get up and you're too awake to sit and do nothing in the darkness. Peering at the end of your bed, you can see and hear Tobi breathing peacefully. He's asleep. You pat the bedside table for your phone and begin to roll over and decide to scroll into the abyss of social media. As you roll over you notice the figure. You jump out of your skin, "Jeez Tobi! When did you get over here?!" You whisper shout, clenching your chest to soothe your painfully fast beating heart.

"Why is [Y/N]-chan awake so early?"

"I can't sleep"

"Yeah~ Tobi knows"

"Then why did you ask?" you chuckled

"Tobi is not as dumb as he seems. Tobi knows [Y/N]-chan has some things on her mind but she probably doesn't want to burden others and talk about it"

You stare at his mask a bit bewildered, "Wow..You hit the nail on the head"

"See~ Tobi's smart"

You smile sweetly at him, "Very smart"

"Tobi just wants [Y/N]-chan to know that you're his new bestest friend and you'll always have him around, no matter what"

"Aww. Tobi~ But.. that's not really true. I mean, you'll have to leave some day ..right?" You said pouting

Tobi sighs and rolls on his back, "Yeah...But Tobi will do everything in his power to make sure we stay as long as we can! Deal?"

"Deal" you hug onto his upper arm as a form of gratification.

"Seems Tobi and [Y/N]-chan are wide awake now, Huh?"

You nod into his arm, "Tobi has an idea! You've been sparring with Zetsu right? What do ya say Tobi teaches [Y/N]-chan some stuff to surprise him later on with?"

You didn't even have to reply. He sprung up to see you already throwing a hoodie on top of your pjs. You grabbed his hands and dragged him out of bed and out into the garden as quietly as possible, not to awake the others.

The two of you spent a good few hours at it non stop, he showed you how to deliver punches correctly, how to disarm someone and many self defence moves. He kept saying how he wants you to learn as much as you can for protection. He said there could be a time that you're by yourself and none of them are around to help you. You were a quick learner, it could be from the excitement of learning how to fight which you've always wanted to do and you're learning from one of the pros.

"There you are. What are you two doing?" the two of you paused to see Itachi at the back door.

"Tobi's training me how to fight!" you said slightly out of breath but with a very wide and happy smile.

"You'll have to show me later what you have learnt. Anyway, breakfast is ready if you - - "

"Tobi is famished!!" Tobi sprints past Itachi and straight into the living room. You tiredly head in to join them behind him.

You lazily flop on the floor aside Tobi in the living room, "Are..you okay?" Deidara asks

Tobi's practically inhaling the food with his back to the group in order to avoid his face being seen as he eats, "Tobi and [Y/N]-chan have been sparring since we've been awake"
