The Initiation

You open your eyes once you feel the ground again.

It's soft...Grass?.

"We are not far from the base, but the others are nearby" Tobi states letting go of your hand. You look up at the sky through the light beams that escape the trees above you. You take in the beautiful scenery.

"They're here" Tobi turns to the silhouette's walking towards you in the distance. You hold back your emotions and clutch onto Tobi's cloak. "Don't cry [Y/N]-chan we need good, strong impressions for Leader"

You understand, letting go. You take in a deep breathe, exhaling slowly. As they get closer, you can see all of their expressions. Kakuzu is hidden behind his mask as usual, Hidan, Deidara and Kisame are grinning from ear to ear at you. All holding back from hugging you in front of Leader. Itachi is smiling softly and Sasori is expressionless as always.

Zetsu appears from the ground aside you "Welcome back" You smile at him, holding back the urge to hug him as well. Your eyes dart to the two new faces walking closer to you. A tall male, with bright orange hair and piercings all over his ears and face. He looks rather intimidating, but you stand your ground as Tobi and Zetsu step aside. Another member walks towards you, a lone female. Her amber eyes pierce you and yet you're entranced by her beauty. "So you're the girl we've heard all about" You bow slightly at their Leader, then to the blue haired female.

"We understand you are not from this time, but it appears you hold some power" You eyes grew at the comment "Power?" you tilt your head at Pain.

"You still haven't figured it out?" Konan questions, looking back at Itachi and Tobi who were standing in line with the other members a few steps away.

"It doesn't matter. For now, I want to do a few tests. I will ask you to battle the Akatsuki members I choose. But first, Itachi"

Itachi moves forward, "Tell me, is here any difference than before?"

His sharingan analyses your being, "It's stronger than before"

Pain narrows his eyes at you. "What are you feeling right now, [Y/N]?"

You look back at Leader and shrug "Err...I dunno...anxious, confused...tired? " He nods to Itachi to step back to the others.

"Hidan"

You look up at him, he pulls the gigantic scythe that you've heard so much about off his back. You can't take your eyes off it. You can tell it'll be Hidan who you fight, you've done this before but something feels different this time.

"Don't hold back and use ninjutsu"

"I'm not going to kill her" Hidan gave their Leader a cold stare.

Itachi passes you his kunai and an actual sword, not your wooden one. You hold it up to your face, seeing your features in the reflection. This is real...this is actually real. You gulp loudly and prepare yourself. Hidan looks at you with guilt in his eyes and mouths 'Do it' to you. You hesitate at first knowing from what you've heard of his jutsu is that it's deadly if he cuts you.

"Hidan.." Kakuzu speaks with his deep voice, catching you off guard.

"I know I know.." Hidan sighs and swings with scythe around above his head before holding it behind him in his readied stance.

He runs towards you. You jump up and use his weapon as a platform before jumping on his shoulder, getting behind him and knocking him to the ground. He swings his scythe at your face from behind and scratches your cheek. Your eyes widen.

You jump back to create distance and prepare your bow. Hidan cuts his palm and lets the blood drip on the floor as he creates the symbol. You've heard about this before, you just need to stop him before he licks your blood.

You need to stop him before he can attack and keep him out of his circle. You shoot two arrows, one as a decoy that he dodges and another straight into his dominant shoulder. He hisses and drops his scythe. As he is off guard you take the moment and charge at him with your sword. You aim to cut his other arm off but he grabs the sword by the blade, surprising you. He kicks you back in the stomach and you fall to the ground. What he didn't realise is that you did some quick thinking an threw a kunai as he kicked you. He winced as it went into his neck. In quick haste he swiped his thumb on his blade, licking your blood off his thumb, changing his appearance. He smirked at you and pulled the kunai out of his neck to throw it back at you before heading for his Jashin symbol. You held your arms out to defend your face and chest.

Nothing.

You look up to see a figure in front of you holding the kunai. "Move" Pain instructs.
