28) secret keeper

"Owww," I wake up, with an aching pain in my head. My stomach hurts as well. "Good morning," Luca says next to me. 

"Wait," I realize what's happening and try to think about what happened last night but I can't think straight. 

"You got badly drunk last night. David tried to take your virginity but you saved yourself. You got mad at me but you fell on your way outta here so I had to help you to bed," Luca summarized everything. 

I look and see what I'm wearing. "Who changed me?" I ask when I realize I'm wearing a pair of shorts that are for teen girls but an oversized men's shirt. "Me, and the shirt's Sasha's. She knows you're here. A ton of people stayed overnight. So did your twin and friends. I think they all passed out," Luca informed me. 

"Why did you-" I start to ask but realize that I am mad at him. I decide to ignore him and try to get up but my head hurts so bad.

"I told you're mom, you're with Ember at her house and Addalyn's there too," Luca says once I manage to get up. 

"Thank you?" I say but it comes out as a question. I didn't ask him to do that so why should I forgive him right now? 

He just gives me his stupid amused look. "What?" I mutter looking down and occupying myself by making the bed. "You're weird, Zoe," he replies and walks off. 

I spot a glass of water and a bowl. I walk over to it and peer inside the bowl to find a pill. "Hey, Luca!" I call out quickly before he leaves me alone with the maybe poison-filled pill. "Yes, it's a pill. No, it's not filled with drugs or poison. It's aspirin," Luca says without even turning around. 

I open my mouth or sass him but he leaves before I can say "drug."

"Woah! Holy shit, when did this happen?" I come to my senses. 

Ember and Rylan were making out on the couch and good thing I interrupted because he was about to take his shirt off. 

"Oh- um- it's not," Ember stutters but I smile. "Is this a one night- er day thing?" I ask, cooly, realizing it's 12 pm. 

"Sure," Ember mumbles. "Liar. Anyways, tell me guys, how long has this been going on?" I make myself comfy on the nearby couch and forget about my hunt for food I was going to do. 

"Uh not long," Ember blushes. "About a month," Rylan says and I gasp dramatically. That explains why she's always off somewhere. 

It's not every day you get to make Ember feel uncomfortable. 

"So, are you two a... thing?" I press. "Yeah," they both mumble, grinning at each other. 

'Who else knows?" I ask and hope no one else because it feels good having a really good reason to blackmail Ember. 

She always did it to me so it's finally my turn. 

"Luca," Rylan says. 

"Seriously? When did you tell him?" Ember shrieks and I snort, earning a glare from both of them. 

"It's ok, he never told anyone," Rylan assures her and she nods, glumly. "So, how did this even happen?" I blurt out. 

"Well, we were texting through Snap. He found our catfishing account," Ember mumbles the last part so only I can hear it. 

2 years ago, Ember & I made a catfishing account on Snapchat and catfished a bunched of guys at school. I still have a bunch of screenshots about them asking us to be their girlfriend even though they have a girlfriend. 

A good blackmailing technique I'll use for the future. 

"So, I actually started liking him as we talked the whole night and then we started facetiming and I actually started falling asleep during FaceTime," Ember continued.  

"When she told me her name I was confused as shit because her snap name is Madison but her real name is Ember but then she told me this wasn't her account," Rylan added and I fought to keep a straight face. 

"Yeah, it's my cousins. I was locked out of my account when he first started adding me but then my real account wasn't locked anymore so now we text from there or Imessage cause we have each other's numbers and everything," Ember replied. 

It's true she was locked out of her real account- a year ago! I knew she meant once she started to trust him, she gave him her real account. 

"How did y'all not realize you guys knew each other in real life. Especially if y'all were FaceTimin," I face-palm. 

"Well, we just showed the fan or ceiling. No one uses facetime right no more," Ember protested and I chuckled. 

"Can you please not tell anyone we're together?" Rylan pleaded. "Please?" Ember said. 

"You can be... our secret keeper," Ember said.

"And you can cover for us," Rylan added. 

"Why do you 2 want to be a secret. I support it, I'm sure everyone else will," I replied. 

"Please, just be our secret keeper," Ember pleaded, ignoring my question. 

That's when I realized why Ember didn't want everyone to know she was with Rylan. 

He was popular and she hated being center of attention. If word went out that Rylan and Ember were dating, the poor girl will get sucked in by everyone. 

I nodded and they cracked a smile. 

And that's how I became their secret keeper.
