I decide not to go home because my distraction date with Jacob is in 40 minutes and I didn't feel like eating something Addy cooked- she cannot cook. I find a Taco Bell and order off the drive-thru.

"Hi, can I have a Crunchwrap and a Doritos Locos Tacos," I order. "Which type?" the person taking the order asks. "Oh right. I'll take cool ranch," I answer. She gives me the price and I fish for money inside my purse.

"Thank you," I say, and take my food. "This is my dream date," I murmur, drooling at the doof.

I finish my food and drive to where Jacob said we could meet. I find his car- he sent me a description of it and walked out of my car. Making sure I locked it, I find Jacob who's examining some baseball bats.

"Oh, no," I sigh to myself realizing I would've worn some athletic clothes. The week I've known Jacob, I should've expected a baseball date.

"Hey, Zoe. Ready to hit some home runs?" Jacob grins and I smile back. "I'm just gonna tell yah- I suck," I warn him. "Good thing you got me," he winked and we head over to the batting cages.

My phone vibrates- I had it on silent mode and I check to see who texted me. It was Ander- a cute, nice, and mixed guy I was going to meet tomorrow at the bowling alley 40 minutes away from my house.

A~ Sorry, I gotta cancel tommorow.

Z~ Aw, you ok?

A~ Yeah, my ex called me and I already told you, I'm not over her. I hope we get back together

Z~ Yeah, same! Good luck!

I'm happy for Ander. We were texting about how he misses his ex, Olivia and they broke up because her parents thought Olivia shouldn't have a boyfriend at her age. Hopefully, her parents rethink it and those 2 get married because honestly, they sound really cute together.

"Which one?" Jacob interrupted my thoughts. "That one," I pointed to the bat Jacob was holding with his right hand.

I felt my phone ring. Someone was calling me- through Snapchat?

"I better take this," I tell Jacob and find a private spot, nearby. "Hey, Zach," I accept the call. "Hey, Zoe. I guess I forgot to tell you this but the whole time we've been texting... I've been in a relationship the whole time," Zach said. "Oh," my face falls. "Yeah, my girlfriend found out I've been texting other girls so I'm making it up to her so we can't text anymore. I'm gonna have to cancel for tomorrow," Zach added. "Sorry," he added again. "Oh, um that's fine. I'm pretty busy right now. So, bye?" I wince. "Yeah, bye," he hangs up.

Ok, relationships are weird.

"I'm ready," I put my phone in my back pocket. "Ok," Jacob smiles.

"That was fun," I grin. Our baseball date was ending and not gonna lie, Jacob is a really good coach. "You were right though- you suck at baseball," Jacob mocks me hitting the ball with the bat. "Shut up," I mumble. "You should see me at the ice rink though," I add, thinking of the days I used to go ice skating with Addy.

She was terrible.

I used to remember we stopped going because she always fell on her ass and had so many bruises. Since then, I only sent once or twice every month, with Ember or Ethan.

"Ok, we can decide on another day for that," Jacob grinned. "Ok," I say, and return the smile.
