Summary: Conversation between Unknown about Norse, Greek and Roman gods and their blessings.
Notes: This isn't really a fandom or anything, just an idea I had recently. Though I imagined it to be a convo between Harry or Hermione and the Weasley twins. If there's any mistakes I made with names or something tell me.
Warnings: none
Disclaimer: I do not own Norse, Greek or Roman mythology.

"If you want to hail a god or goddess you should probably take Loki."

"Why Loki?"

"Because he's the fairest of them all - well, if you ignore the other myths at least. If you want Greek, take Hermes, Apollo, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia or even Athena - though I don't overly recommend Athena if you're a boy, the same with Artemis, I can't exactly promise that they'll even spare you a glance. If you want Roman, take Apollo, Mercury, Mars or Neptune. Neptune will be the most likely to pay attention to you since he doesn't get much at all - something about the Romans not liking the seas. Mars is the Roman form of Ares - way more chill and pleasant than his greek counterpart - and Mercury is Hermes' roman form - they're not that different, Hermes is just plays a few more pranks than Mercury - and Apollo is the same in both forms - the roman poets sometimes call him Phoebus.

"Personally, I think Hermes, Apollo or Loki would be best suited for you. You know, with all of them being tricksters in some way."

"Wait, you said something about a blessing?"

"Oh, yeah. If you choose a god or goddess to hail or choose as your protector, they bless you - well, the ones they deem worthy of their blessing.

"Loki's blessings can vary from person to person - depending on what blessing fits best to their personality. Some get an ability similar to metamorphosis - just wayyy stronger - others the animagus ability - just with more animals than one. The stronger or more worthy ones sometimes get both of those abilities or get the additional power to transform into magical animals, too. Most of Loki's blessed get his wit and cunning, which is why most all of them end up in Slytherin or sometimes Ravenclaw. There's only been two of Loki's blessed in Gryffindor and five in Hufflepuff in history. One thing you can be sure of is that Loki ALWAYS grants his blessed better control over their magic - and, like the metamorphosis, most get the ability to cast illusions.

"Hermes' blessing is similar to Loki's. Wit and cunning for most all of them, better grasp on their magic - Hermes has so many goddamn titles and all that shit, it's hard to keep track of - shapeshifting, stealth, all-speak - basically, you can speak every single language, dead or alive, human, animal or alien but that comes with any norse god's blessing, too - and some more stuff. You can also run freakishly fast with his blessing. And lie really good - even Apollo has problems telling truth from lie with him.

"Apollo's blessing upps your musical and medical abilities by a blast. You wanna become a medi-witch? Apollo's the god to follow. In rare cases Apollo's blessed have a faint sense of the future - they know some things are essential for the future, but don't know how exactly - or have a small control over light. Some even have the ability to differentiate truth from lie. You might have to worry about your ego quite a bit if he blesses you because the world - quite literally - revolves around him - you know, god of the sun and all - so yeah.

"Ares' blessing sometimes allows you to shapeshift into animals. It mostly just gives you the ability to wield any weapons at least averagely. It's not much but he's freakishly protective of his blessed. The same goes for Mars.

"Poseidon's and Hades' blessing give you minimal control over their respective elements: with Poseidon - Neptune - you have small control over liquids and the earth - if you train hard enough, that's freakishly strong power, do your research on him, he's cool - and you can control small storms. With Hades, you have small control of the ground and gems and you're automatically an advanced necromancer.

"Hestia is the nicest and friendliest - albeit oldest and, when angry, scariest (she's like a Hufflepuff: befriend her and she's the nicest she'll get but make her angry and you'll wish you were dead) - of the goddesses. With her blessing you can summon food and have small control over fire. You can also see where a person's strongest loyalties lie.

"Athena's blessing will make you very smart and wise - most all of her blessed are in Ravenclaw, with few in Slytherin - and will make you a strong strategist.

"The only bad thing is that the more gods you decide to hail, the less of their blessings you'll get - or the weaker the blessings will get - since the human body isn't strong enough to hold that many strong blessings."

"Sounds interesting. Wel have to read into that a bit more."

Unbeknownst to them, somewhere up in the sky, in a place only few have access to, that exact conversation was witnessed by a group of gods and goddesses, most of them smiling fondly as their favorite mortal talked about them and their blessings.

A/N

Hey, okay, this is a bit weird but I just though about that because of a story I read. If there's any mistakes (spelling, grammar or abt the mythology) let me know.

Like always, requests are always welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Jenna
