Malak was extremely thankful when he woke up. All his bones were healed and he was still in the tent. Sadly, he's mate was sitting as far away as he could from him. Malak figured Zion was afraid of hurting the young angel. Which was utterly ridiculous. He knew Zion would never hurt him.

"Zion?" He yawned. The demon's eyes snapped to his mate. A small smile made it's way onto his face when he realized his mate was fully healed. "Can we what did you call it? Cuddle? I think that is right. Can we cuddle now that I am healed?"

Zion shook his head and chuckled. His angel was back. Thank, God. He carefully checked his mate just to be sure. He really didn't want to hurt him. Malak giggled and threw his arms around the demon's neck.

Both of them enjoyed the moment silently. It felt wonderfully comforting to be in each other's arms. Neither of them thought they'd see each other again which was traumatizing. They couldn't stand the thought of being separated.

"Thank you for helping me, Zion. I am very happy," Malak said sincerely. Zion gave him a sad smile. He was still upset with what happened. How could he let his mate get hurt? He should've done something sooner. "You are worried. I can see it in your eyes. Why?" Malak asked.

Zion sighed and ran his fingers through the angel's messy hair. Malak bit his lip and blushed. He really liked the feeling. It made him feel tingly. "I hated seeing you in pain, Angel. It pi-angers me that someone hurt you," he said, trying to control his anger.

"She had to punish me so I learned my lesson," the angel told him. He still felt guilty for disappointing his guardian. She raised him so well yet he keeps disappointing her. It was unfair.

The demon frowned. His anger towards the mysterious woman was growing worse. How dare she make his angel feel this way! It was unacceptable. "Malak, you didn't need to learn a lesson. She had no right to punish you," he passionately stated. "I have no idea what she told you but I promise you, she's wrong."

"She can not be wrong. She raised me so she has to be right. If she was not, then she hurt me for no reason. Why would she do that?" He frowned.

"Some beings like to hurt people for no reason. It's not your fault, Malak," he answered sincerely. He didn't like how confused and hurt his mate looked. "How about we talk about this later? Let's go do something fun," Zion suggested.

Malak's eyes lit up. He loved going outside. He always got to learn something new. Plus, Zion was going to be there which was excellent. He made everything better.

The zoo was probably the best and worst place to take Malak. There were a lot of things to distract him. The angel wanted to talk to every animal even though Zion told him the humans would think he was crazy. Honestly, Malak couldn't care less about them. He wanted to know more about the animals.

Each animal waited patiently to talk with the angel. All of them loved when the angels visited. Though they were quite wary of the demon who was following the angel. However, the demon couldn't be that bad if he hadn't harmed the angel. In fact, the demon saved the angel from his own clumsiness multiple times.

All the animals intrigued Malak. They answered all his questions the best they could. Plus, each of them looked unique. Especially the birds. They all were very colorful.

However, there was one animal that the angel didn't like. A snake. Just one of the snakes. The reptile had a dark presence that the angel could sense. It was darker than any demon he's ever come across. Granted, he hadn't seen many. The most unusual and suspicious thing about the snake was its beady red eyes that seemed to always watch the angel.
