Malak made a friend. The creature called himself a duck. Malak and the duck talked for a while. Being an Angel, he could understand any animals but he didn't know that. He thought the duck spoke his language and didn't understand why people were looking at him strangely.

"Why do you not have a name? Is that not odd?" Malak asked his yellow friend. He thought it was unusual to call his friend duck since that was what he was. Not who he was. He believed all beings had names, even the Father had a name. But according to the duck, most animals didn't have names.

His friend replied, "Animals only have names when they are given to them by the humans."

"Humans? What are those?" The young angel inquired.

The duck had been talking with Malak for a while now and he realized how sheltered the poor angel was. Even the duck knew more than him and he was a duck. So the fact that he didn't know what a human was didn't really surprise him. "The beings around us. They look like you but they can't talk to me like you can. They also don't possess wings or any of that magic stuff your kind can do," he informed the curious angel.

"They do not have wings? Are they like demons?" Malak asked suspiciously. These humans didn't seem demon-like but they could be. Maybe they were a different breed of demon.

His friend quaked before informing him, "They aren't as powerful as demons and most aren't as evil. But they do look the same. Just like you look like them when you hide your wings."

Malak really liked talking to the duck. He was very wise and informative. Though he was worried about what his guardian would think. She didn't like it when Malak learned things. She believed his curiosity would lead him to sin. Malak disagreed but he's so young. He didn't think his opinion matter as much as the older angel's.

Even though he was worried, he was still filled with curiosity. The more he knew about this world, the less scary it was. "How can you tell the difference? My guardian told me demons eat souls and I rather not have my soul eaten," the angel shuddered.

"Trust me, you can tell," the duck stated. "There's a dark aura about their kind. Even humans notice it."

Malak shivered. He hoped he'd never see a demon. They sounded dangerous and definitely stronger than the small angel. There's no way he could survive if he meant one.

Maybe it'd be safer if he went back to Heaven. He never worried about demons there. There were a lot of strong angels that could easily wipe them out. However, Heaven was lonely and boring. This Earth was way better. It was filled with colors, sounds, and ducks! As long as he didn't run into any demons, he didn't see a reason to go home. Not yet at least.

"If demons visit the Earth, does that mean Angels do too?" The duck nodded- "Do you think they will take me back?"

"Don't you want to go home?" He asked. He's meant a few angels before Malak. Each spoke about how amazing Heaven was and how it was such a gift to be an angel. However, the duck knew something was different about Malak. He didn't seem to have the same experience as the other angels.

Malak hesitantly shook his head, "This world is much better though I am thankful my time in Heaven. I was put on the Earth for a reason and I would prefer to stay here. It is much nicer."

The duck wasn't surprised by his answer. It fit well with everything he knew about the angel. Nonetheless, he never thought he'd hear an angel say such things.
