Malak was still worried. No matter how much cuddling the two beings did and positive affirmations Zion said, the angel was still afraid. So, he did the only thing he could think of: taking the angel into town. Unsurprisingly, this worked.

The town was quaint and had a charming feeling to it. The buildings were well kept but still looked old. Zion loved towns like this. The demon really loved architecture. Seeing it evolve was fascinating to him. Though admittedly he preferred older architecture. It was more elegant and beautiful than modern architecture in his eyes.

Malak liked how lively the city was. It was very busy in a great way. All the humans were doing interesting things like driving. He's never seen anyone drive before but he wanted to try it. Zion told him that most humans drove cars and trucks. However, some drive something called a motorcycle but he hasn't seen one yet.

There was also something called a restaurant. Apparently, humans needed to eat food to survive just like animals. It was really intriguing to the angel as he didn't think humans needed to eat. Though there still was a lot about the species he didn't know. According to his duck friend, they were weak so he had no reason to be afraid. If only he could say the same for his unknown powers.

Human food was very flavorful. Zion told him all about it. Apparently, there's unique food all over the world that you can only get certain places. He promised to take the angel different places and try it which was very exciting. Though for right now, he enjoyed pizza. A wonderful greasy food.

While the angel was eating, he heard something. A voice in his head. This confused the young angel as he's only heard Zion in his head and that was because Zion was his mate. That's what his demon told him at least. It could've been an angel but none speak to him.

"I saw how you defeated Lucifer," It whispered. The voice was so in-descriptive; it was terrifying. He couldn't tell who it was. He tried to think hard and analyze the voice but nothing. It was strange.

Zion noticed his mate's change in behavior. The angel stared at his pizza with a look of confusion. He noticed the dazed look his eyes were doing and realized someone was mind linking his mate. But who? The angels promised to leave him alone while they searched for his "guardian" and she wouldn't be stupid enough to mind link him. So who was it?

"You should be proud of accomplishing such a feat. You should brag about it! I mean how many people could say they defeated the King of Hell?" The voice said.

Malak frowned. He didn't like the voice. It spoke with no emotion which caused him to shiver. No one spoke like the voice. It was unique in an unsettling way.

Maybe if he responded, the voice would leave. It was highly unlikely but there was always a chance. "I have no reason to be proud. I won the fight because of that unusual power."

Still, the voice didn't leave him alone. It continued to boast about him and try and convince him to be prideful. He didn't like this. He had no reason to be proud because he won with luck.

The voice's motivation was unclear. The angel didn't trust it. However, it was praising Malak which didn't seem like a bad thing. It was just very uncomfortable.

"Angel?" A concerned voice snapped Malak out of his thoughts. The angel blankly stared at his mate, trying to figure out how long his mate was calling him. Zion looked very concerned. "Are you okay?"

"I- I do not know. There is a strange voice in my head and I do not like it," he stammered. The voice was still talking Malak up. He wanted it to stop but he didn't know how to get it to stop.

Zion got up and kneeled in front of the worrying angel. He wiped his mate's stray tears away. Why can't everyone just leave them alone? What has his angel ever done to deserve any of this?

"Malakai, I want you to try and block them. Okay?"

"I d-do not know how," he whispered. The voice wouldn't stop talking. He just wanted it to stop.

"All you have to do is imagine a wall surrounding the voice, blocking it out." The angel listened to his mate's advice. Hopefully, it'd work. After doing what he was told, he waited a few minutes.

His mind was completely silent causing him to smile. Zion gasped silently as Malak excitedly wrapped his arms around the demon. Both of them were relieved. Especially Malak, who hoped the voice would never speak to him again.

Though if the voice did speak to him again, he'd know how to block it out thanks to Zion. However, blocking it out didn't make him any less confused. Why was the voice talking to him? Was it really that big of a deal that he beat Lucifer? He didn't know that the demon was the King of Hell.

Still, he didn't think he should be proud of that. Malak was grateful for the power that helped him win- even though it still terrifying. The angel wondered if the voice and powers were connected. Both were very frightening and it only spoke to him after the power showed up.

Malak didn't want to think about this any longer. Sure, he was curious but he was still afraid to learn more. All the angel wanted was to enjoy the rest of his day with Zion. So, that's exactly why he did.
