-HIM-

I parked my car and stopped the engine. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting to be invited to dinner. I wasn't expecting that I can even stepped foot in her house anymore since that last time I came.

Her dad was so objecting her with me.

And the unexpected invitation for dinner makes me nervous as hell.

I flex my fingers on my knees and calm my breathe for a moment before letting myself out of the car. I reach for a bouquet of flowers and wine as a polite gesture.

As I walk, I thought my legs would give in and willingly fall myself to the ground. However, I managed to bring myself to the front step.

Thankfully.

I raised my hand and knocked on the door, unbeknownst to whom is going to answer it. I was hoping for Lana but it backfired because, Mr. Andrews frowning face is my current view.

And not to lie, if before my heart is already drumming rapidly, my heart is in my throat just by the sight of him.

"Good evening, sir. Thank you for inviting me."

He trailed his eyes cautious eyes from my head to toes and just nod his head.

"Sure, come in."

Okay, that went well. He doesn't even make bad comments on me.  But, it is clear that he was so not into inviting me to dinner.

But still, a progress without snarky comments.

The whole house already smells like home with home-cooked meals of cheesy creamed-pasta and mushroom soup. Oh, and the smell of garlic bread is too tempting to not take a deep breath.

I know because Lana told me.

As if she sensed me, she came into my view from the kitchen and everything else seemed to silence and disappear. She is wearing a navy blue dress with laced off-shoulder that end just on her knees.

She looks breathtaking as always.

I didn't even notice Mrs. Andrews walking out of the kitchen after her. With a bright smile and welcoming motherly hands, Mrs. Andrews reaches out her hand to me.

"Thank you for coming, Ethan."

"Of course, wouldn't miss it for the world." I smile and shake her hands.

I was so nervous the flowers and bottle of wine in my hands are well-forgotten. Until Mrs Andrews speaks, "Is that for us?"

I blink, "Yes, er, yes thank you for inviting me."

She just smiles and ask Lana to sit me in the living room. Lana holds my hands and suddenly I'm calm again. I've never face this kind of things, and it makes me skittish because I don't know how to react. I'm trying to keep cool anyways.

"Are you nervous?" She smiles.

"Is it too obvious?"

She laughs, "No, you look handsome."

I want to kiss the hell out of her. For making me embarrassed.
