I was frantically scurrying  through every room in the house, almost as if I was desperately looking for something. My feet stopped on their own accord as soon as I reached the steps leading to the attic(a hiding spot I hadn't used since I was ten). It was almost as if I could sense there was something waiting for me up there.

When I got to the top, I was stunned, my grandmother was sitting on her rocking chair, her face illuminated, she looked so peaceful and angelic. Just as beautiful as I remembered.

"I've been waiting for this day for ages" she beamed at me.

"Gran! Oh, how I've missed you". I sobbed.

Her face contorted into one of panic. "Hush now, my angel."

"I don't have alot of time. There are certain things which you must know" she continued.

"What do you mean?" I wondered out loud.

"Evil things are about to befall us my child. You must brace yourself. There is..." she stopped, gasping for air and clutching her chest almost as if she were experiencing severe pain.

I rushed to her side as she fell to the floor. Just as I was about to touch her...

I opened my eyes, finding myself in my bed, drenched in sweat. I glanced at my alarm clock: 15 minutes past midnight. What an odd start to my birthday. I was now officially a legal eagle. Even more odd, was the fact that it was the first time since my gran passed away, 6 years ago, that I had dreamt of her.
