I stared at the ring that I was holding for a couple of minutes. Psyching myself up for what would come after I slipped it on.

"How does it feel when you slip it on?"  I asked Xypher.

"You actually don't feel anything in particular." he surprised me by saying.

"So no sparks or feelings of floating around?" I blurted out before I could think about what I was saying.

He smirked in response. I was certain he knew exactly what I was referring to when I mentioned sparks and floating - those were the feelings he gave me every time we were in close proximity, every time we kissed or touched. That feeling that made you feel like you were on top of the world. I only felt that when I was around him and I was sure he felt it too.

"None of that, unfortunately." he said with a little smile on his face.

"Ladies first." he added,  gesturing for me to put the ring on.

I looked down at the ring, for some reason I was excited yet hesitant to actually wear it.

"We don't have all day, you know." he snapped.

Wow,  someone's grouchy.

"The spell has a time limit." he added on. "We need to be in and out of there as soon as possible."

"Who's the impatient one now?" I retorted, rolling my eyes at his sudden sense of urgency.

"Time is of the essence in this case,  love. "

As he said those words, I finally built up the courage to slip on the ring.

I braced myself for whatever would come next. However, just like Xypher had said, there was nothing at all. You really didn't feel anything once you slipped on the ring.

I walked towards the side view mirror of the car to look at my reflection, however, I didn't see my reflection staring back at me like I usually would. Instead, there was nothing. It's like you could see right through me.

"Robyn, where are you?" Xypher asked. I turned to face him, realizing he hadn't slipped his ring back on.

"I'm here. Coming towards you" I said as I moved closer to him.

"I'm about to slip on my ring.  Stay close." he instructed. "Follow my voice."

The tiny flaw in this marvelous plan was that once we slipped these rings on: we wouldn't be able to see each other either. Not exactly ideal when we were planning on sneaking into an unknown place. Nevertheless, I'm sure we'd be just fine.

We agreed on a little hum that wasn't too loud, to avoid raising suspicion, but loud enough for me to hear so I'd be able to follow him. The walk back to the estate itself was long and tiresome. Was there really a need to park that far away? I had a feeling he was just being paranoid and now my delicate legs were bearing the brunt of it as a result.

"Do you know where it is?" I questioned as we were finally approaching the estate. I sighed to myself in relief.

"I have a rough idea." he said.

As we got closer to the entrance, his humming stopped. Which caused me to stop dead in my tracks as well, since I didn't know whether to move ahead or not.

"Can we take a little pause on the questions please?" I was relieved when I heard his voice again. Invisible or not. There was no way I wanted to be wandering around an unknown estate all by myself.

"It's just that I want us to be as stealthy as possible to avoid getting into situations we aren't equipped for." he explained.

"Okay, I see." I nodded in agreement and immediately felt a little silly afterwards when I realized he couldn't see me.

"One more thing, we need to climb over this entrance gate." he tried to whisper, however he failed miserably. One of the security guards did a quick look around. I could feel my heart rate skyrocket as he was glancing around, trying to find the source of the noise.  Fortunately after a few seconds he gave up on his search.

I did a quick glance around myself. It was only now that we were so close to entering the estate that I realized just how many guards this place had. What exactly was in this estate, for them to require so many guards for protection?

"I'm going to help you up first." Xypher successfully managed a whisper this time. For someone that didn't want talking - he was sure doing a hell of a lot of that now. I had a mild suspicion that he was just tired of the multitude of questions that I kept throwing at him. Ah well, you can't blame a girl for trying right?

"Move your hand around until you find mine." he whispered. "You'll be able to feel me even though you can't see me. " he explained before I had the opportunity to shoot a question his way.

I did as I was instructed until I felt something hard,  which I'm assuming had to be him. I felt a hand clutch mine, as he guided my hand to the gate.

I gasped when he attempted to give me a little push so that I could climb up the gate, as his hand landed right on my butt. His aim was good even when we were invisible.

I expected him to just move his hand away after a few seconds, however his hand lingered on my left butt cheek as he did the unimaginable. He squeezed a few times. What the hell? Invisible or not. I wasn't going to give him the privilege of feeling me up.

"Will you stop squeezing my ass please?" I whispered at him, however, I was sure he could still hear the scorn in my voice.

"My apologies, love. " he whispered back.

Just when I thought that chapter was closed, I felt a little smack on my butt.

"Did you just spank me?" I whispered in awe and amusement.

I couldn't believe he actually had the audacity to spank me. Just wait until we get inside.
