After discussing everything a little more, Xypher had returned to Jordan's house. I discovered that's where he'd been laying low these past couple of days, it was the only sensible thing to do in a scenario such as this. It's a good thing Jordan's parents were usually out on business and hardly ever at home. Otherwise, they would pick up that their spoiled son was acting strangely.
We eventually agreed that Xypher would try to find a way to locate Jordan's soul, even if that meant asking his powerful connections for help. As much as he was thrilled about the freedom, I helped him realize that it was not a sustainable fix in the long run. Jordan would have to return to campus and graduate, he would have to interact with his family, friends, lecturers and people of the town. He was popular. Most people would be able to sense there was something different instantly.
I was still pondering over everything that occurred in the day, while I was indulging in mom's divine apple pie at the dinner table. How strange it was for a few simple words, that I used while I was overwhelmed with pleasure, to cause such a huge change almost overnight. I had this feeling that there had to be more to it. Something as big as this couldn't just be a strange coincidence.
A huge part of me also felt guilty. Would Jordan's soul be okay wherever he was? Would the darkness scar him for life? Or perhaps I felt guilty because a bigger part of me was thrilled to have Xypher in a human form at last. My mind was already wandering towards the things we could do now, that wasn't possible, for obvious reasons, before. Instead of being an imaginary friend, Xypher would now be a real person. Someone that I could engage with in the flesh, not someone I had to wait upon to make an appearance.
He's in someone else's body. He's in Jordan's body. My subconscious reminded me. I suppose the only thing we can do in life, is embrace all the curves it throws at us. If Xypher was now in human form then why not make the most of it?
"Honey, you look deep in thought." Mom pointed out, cutting through my absurd thoughts. "Is everything alright?"
"I'm okay mom. I just have a lot on my mind right now." only later realizing that saying this caused the concern on her face to grow deeper.
"Is it because of the boy you had over earlier? The same one that came over the other day." she questioned. "He seems nice."
"No, it's not him." I felt the need to clear up, as mom's question caused my dad to look at me expectantly as well.
"Actually, I'm still trying to figure out the riddle that came with my birthday present." I explained quickly, it was half true after all.
"Ah yes, that reminds me..." Dad chipped in. "I found the key for the diary you found in the attic the other day. "
"You did!" I exclaimed, my excitement rising, the contents of the diary could lead to solving this entire mystery.
"It's on my desk, in the study."
I immediately excused myself from the table, and went to the study to collect the key.
I hurried to my room so I could finally unlock the diary.
As I opened the door, Xypher was relaxing on my bed. He looked so content with a huge smirk on his face.
"I thought you headed to Jordan's place." I pointed out. "That's what we agreed on."
We agreed it would be best until we figured out all the details. The main one being how to locate Jordan's soul. Had that suddenly changed?
"I couldn't keep myself away from you." he said, as he winked at me.
His statement resulted in me blushing. My cheeks betrayed me by turning into a deep shade of red. All of this was beyond weird for me. Not so long ago, I'd been repulsed by the sight of Jordan, I'd wished for him to leave me alone entirely... and yet now, because Xypher's soul found a home in him, I found myself drawn to him with such intensity.
He walked closer to me, until he was staring right in front of me.
"Being able to do this now was far too much to resist." he said as his fingertips lightly brushed against my cheek.
Such a small gesture caused my heart rate to quicken and simultaneously ignited a little fire of passion in my soul.
My hands found their way to his neck on their own accord, pulling him closer to me, until his body was flush against mine.
"I don't think I can resist you in human form either." I admitted. Something about him awoken my carnal desire. It's like all logic went out the window and I was driven solely by passion.
That's probably why I found myself shamelessly pressing my lips against his. As my lips moved against his, I could feel his desire building, as he slipped his tongue into my mouth.
This was so much different than when his soul was in the teapot, yet so similar at the same time. The familiar floating feeling was there, accompanied by the burning desire to devour him, yet there was also the added pleasure of being able to actually touch him. To touch every part of him and to be able to pull him closer and feel every bit of him pressed against me.
I moaned as his hands moved to my waist and I lifted my legs up and wrapped them around his frame. He moved to the bed and sat down while I was still wrapped around him without breaking our kiss.
