The next morning, I was in a state of blissful delight. The throes of passion I experienced with Xypher last night ensured that every part of me was satisfied and I felt as happy as the birds that were chirping outside our window.
"Good morning beautiful." Xypher said from beside me, as I turned to face him, his hands tracing little patterns on the exposed skin of my back.
I let out a little giggle at his corny greeting.
"What's so funny?" he asked, he was still in a state of not being fully awake as yet.
"Your cheesy good morning greeting." I pointed out.
"Good morning handsome." I added, leaning towards him to give him a peck on the cheek.
He gave me the cutest boyish smirk in response, which instantly made my heart melt. We just snuggled up next to each other, indulging in the comfort of simply being this close.
"Let's go shower." he said after a few minutes.
"Let's go." I said excitedly, eager at the prospect of showering together for the first time.
Needless to say, it was one of the most eventful showers I've had thus far. Our hands freely roaming over each other while we were scrubbing off. There was something about shower sex that doubled the intimacy and excitement for me.
"You look happy." Xypher pointed out.
"I most certainly am." I agreed, crashing my lips against his.

We made it home just before noon. I was happy to be back in familiar territory, in the comfort of my own space. Not that I didn't enjoy my time with Xypher. I most definitely did, however, coming back to reality meant that I'd need to continue my own little search for answers. Despite the progress in my involvement with Xypher, he was still withholding information from me. Important information that I could be using to decipher the riddle that I initially received with the teapot. Something about this whole situation we were in wasn't adding up for me. There were more than just a few loose ends and I needed to get to the bottom of things.
The dark souls' ability to make Xypher and I invisible with such ease only made me further question what else they were capable of doing. It also made me wonder what kind of deals had Xypher been making with them. How far in was he?

"Road tripping with the new beau already." Alexa said with a teasing tone as soon as I entered the front door, with Xypher behind me.
"I believe you owe me a thank you, Jordan." Alexa continued with her teasing.
It took me a few minutes to process exactly who Alexa was referring to at first. It's like I almost forget that Xypher's soul is in Jordan body sometimes.
"Why do you look so confused?" Alexa asked, she knew me way too well not to notice subtle changes in my expressions.
"Oh, I'm just a little tired from the long drive." I tried to brush her off, hoping she'd buy it.
"Must be all that fun you guys were having." she teased. I breathed a little sigh of relief when she bought my little excuse.
"I want all the gory details later." she beamed at me. I simply smiled in response, expecting nothing less from my best friend.
"Did you'll actually have time to find new home decor?" she asked, noticing that Xypher was holding the curtain we tied up with the remains. I had forgotten just how observant Alexa could be at times.
"Oh no..." I started off, however, I was interrupted by the loud sound that came from Xypher dropping it on the ground.
"What on earth are you'll carrying in that thing?" Alexa asked, with her eyes widened.
Way to enhance Alexa's curiosity even further. How on earth were we supposed to explain this? A part of me wanted to kill Xypher at the moment. However, lthe understanding side of me figured it had to be the pressure that came from the multiple questions Alexa had been asking.
"It's just an old curtain that Xy..." I started off. "Jordan." I corrected myself. "That Jordan brought from home."
"Yeah, it's just an old curtain." he said, nodding his head in agreement.
"It didn't sound like just an old curtain though." Alexa pointed out, looking back and forth between Xypher and I.
A part of me was grateful she hadn't picked up on my little mishap with the name at least. 'Small victories' I thought to myself.
"We actually used it to collect rocks." I said, cringing internally, however, that was the best I could come up with on the spot.
"Rocks?"
"Rocks." Alexa and Xypher both said at the same time.
"Yeah, I actually want to do something creative with it in the attic. I went back up there after ages and I got a little inspired." I tried to sound as natural as possible. I was silently hoping and praying Alexa would buy it.
"Honey, what's all this noise? Is everything alright?" mom asked as she came downstairs.
I was beyond grateful for her little interruption. The last thing I needed was for Alexa to say she wanted to see these precious rocks that we felt the need to carry all the way back home with us.
"Yes,yes. We're fine, mom." I reassured her.
"Jordan just needs to leave something in the attic." I explained.
"It's this way." I urged, ushering him towards the trap door as quickly as I possibly could.
I felt like I could breathe easily after the remains were secured in the attic and Xypher had left.
"You're behaving a little weirdly." Alexa pointed out. "Are you sure everything is okay."
"I'm probably just not used to dealing with all these girly emotions." I said, which wasn't entirely a lie. The feelings I had for Xypher were certainly new to me.
"Oh trust me, I know what you're like when you're crushing on someone." she teased.
"This seems like more than just that though."
I groaned internally. I swear having a best friend that knew you this well was both a blessing and a curse at times.
"I guess I'm also still a bit troubled by the riddle I received with the gift for my birthday." I admitted.
I realized that just because I couldn't tell Alexa everything didn't mean that I couldn't confide in her entirely. I just had to choose the bits of information I divulge to her carefully.
"Oh right." she said thoughtfully. "Well, is there anything that you need my help with?" she offered.
"Actually, there is something that I could use your help with." I admitted, deciding to take her up on her offer. After all, the more help I could get, the quicker I might be able to solve the riddle.
