I was anxious as we moved around the estate, I had this constant fear of getting lost. I tried my best to stay as close to Xypher as I possibly could, which wasn't as easy as it initially sounded. Sometimes one of the guards walked between Xypher and I, making the humming sound quite faint so I was barely able to keep up.
I followed the humming sound into a quiet room, as soon as I entered the room the sound stopped. I stopped dead in my tracks. The door slammed close behind me and I could hear the key turn. A part of me knew it had to be Xypher that closed the door. Another, more paranoid part of me felt like this must be some sort of booby trap.
What if I misheard the direction from which the humming sound was coming? What if it was one of the guards that shut the door behind me and not Xypher like I assumed. So many thoughts kept running through my mind. One thing was for certain: I would suck as a spy. My nerves were constantly on hight alert. This was nerve wrecking. And I had so many questions racing through my mind, that I feared I might accidentally blurt out something and get caught.
I waited in anticipation. My heart in my hands. There was a few moments of silence, with nothing happening. No humming, no signs of movement. Absolutely nothing. A small part of me wondered if this was part of Xypher's plan all along. Trapping me in this room and leaving me alone. However, I shrugged off that theory. Something told me Xypher didn't have the heart to do that to someone. He was far too soft and gentle for something of that nature in my opinion.
Suddenly, I saw Xypher's form appearing again. I breathed out a sigh of relief, I had never been more glad to see Xypher in my life. If I was being dramatic then so be it.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded in response, before realizing that he couldn't see me.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, as smoothly as I could manage. I decided to take off my ring as well.
"What nonsense." Xypher caught me off guard by saying.
I gave him a perplexed look.
"I can literally sense how tense you are." he pointed out.
Damn, he's observant. I didn't even try to argue with that statement. He was right after all. I was a nervous wreck.
"I'm just a little anxious." I admitted. "This isn't an everyday thing for me." I added sheepishly.
He started walking towards me slowly. I braced myself, trying to anticipate his next move. He stopped when he was right in front of me, extending one of his hands to push an invisible strand of my hair behind my ears. I gulped in excitement. Even a gesture as small as that set off fireworks in my soul.
His fingers moved to my lips, lingering, he traced the outline of my lips as my breathing hitched.
He moved his head closer to mine, I licked my lips, eagerly awaiting the sweet delight that I knew was about to come. Our lips touched and the usual fire ignited in the pit of my stomach. Spreading out, until my entire body was engulfed in it.
Our lips continued to move in sync for a few minutes. They were hungrily devouring each other's. Our hands roaming freely all over each other's body. At that moment, I wished that we could just stay entwined like this for as long as possible. At the back of my mind, there were thoughts of what would happen if we were to get caught. However, the pure delight that came from this feeling of having his lips against mine was too much to pass up on. I grinned as his lips pressed even harder against mine, they were just as eager as I was.
His hands traced the hem of my top, he tugged on it for a bit before removing it. I followed suit by removing his t-shirt. He started to unbutton my denim shorts.
The sound of the door knob being turned twice in an attempt to open it caused us both to jump apart.
"Put your ring on, love. Then give me your hand." Xypher whispered in my ear, sending shivers of anticipation down my spine.
Even though I would much rather continue our little make out session, I did as I was instructed. I slipped my ring back on. And then moved my hand around until I could feel Xypher's. I could immediately feel the electricity between us, even though we were both invisible.
"Do you trust me?" he whispered in my ear.
"Of course I do." I whispered back.
He pulled me towards the door, he unlocked it. Instead of the initial anxiousness I felt, with Xypher's hand in mine, I was now calm and ready to take on the world.
The guard immediately charged in as soon as the door was unlocked. He was scouting the room in confusion as Xypher lead me out.
This time Xypher seemed to know exactly where he was going so I didn't bother asking him any questions in fear of breaking his momentum. I just allowed him to lead me.
Eventually he stopped in another room. This one had a door on the other side of the room, which had two guards on either side. Xypher picked up a vase of flowers, leaving the guards in awe as it must have appeared as if the vase of flowers were just floating around to them.
Xypher threw the vase to the other side of the hallway to create a diversion. Surprisingly, all four guards headed to check out what had happened. I was shocked for a few minutes. Heck, even I knew that was a dumb move.
We seized the opportunity and headed for the door that was being guarded. Xypher punched in a few digits on the keypad that was outside the door. We walked inside as it opened up.
The guards were rushing back to the door as it was begining to close again. Fortunately for us, they didn't make it in time.
Once we were inside, I breathed out a sigh of relief. Finally being able to let go of Xypher's hand. I looked around the room in awe, taking in every inch of it.
