Rin's POV:
As the day passed by, nothing of importance happened, sure Aina glared daggers at me but that didn't bother me much. Then came club time. I still showed up, despite being there earlier. I could never get enough of my games, no matter how much I played. I was half wishing Kenma showed up too, I had made a decision and needed to tell him about it.
I open the door to an empty club room and sigh "Oh well, guess he's not here."
"You sound disappointed, that's new."
Startled, I turn around to see Kenma standing behind me with his hands in his pockets, cheeks pink-er than usual and his head tilted slightly sideways.
"I just needed to tell you something, but not right now."
I turn back around and drop my bag on the table in front of the couch, then plop on the couch. Kenma follows suit but instead sits on my chair in front of the Wacman machine.
"So I wanted to tell you that-" I was cut off by a knock on the club room door.
I got up to answer and Kenma turned to face the door. When I open the door, a girl, slightly shorter than me, with long, light brown wavy hair and dark brown streaks, walked in. She raised her gaze just a bit to let her dark ocean blue eyes meet mine.
"I'm Alluka, I signed up at the event earlier. I just wanted to check out the club room." I step aside to let her in, gently closing the door behind her. "So, what games do you guys have?" She was captured by the library of games.
We had everything from handheld console games, to professional level system games. One of our teachers is a huge game nerd, so he donates whatever he can to our small club.
After guiding her through what we do here, and what she could do here,
Alluka leaves. She says that she'll become a regular member though, always nice to have more people. Kenma might not agree with me.
"So what was it you wanted to tell me Rin?" Kenma faced me with a curious look, trying to get me to spill.
"I've been thinking, and I think we should end the rivalry. I mean I don't see why I have to compete with you when you clearly hold the higher score." He sat straight up, a bit of disappointment in his eyes, I could tell.
"So we aren't rivals anymore?" He asked me, trying to clear the air.
"I guess not." That was the end of our rivalry.
~~
Kenma's POV:
There's no way it could end that quick. I had become somewhat attached to this girl. She was easy to talk to, even though it was mostly taunts."How about instead of ending it here, we set up a game to settle the score once and for all." I suggested this idea hoping she'd take me up on my offer and stick around.
"I'm interested, but how?" Rin shifted forward and clasped her hands together under her chin.
I took a second to think about it, "How about we set up a street brawler match, who said our rivalry had to be restricted to just Wacman?"
She considered it, "I'm in, when?"
I tried to extend the date, "1 month from now, so we can both prepare." That sparked a fire in those coffee brown eyes,
"Winner gets bragging rights?" She couldn't play without a reward of some sort.
"Deal." We shook on it.
A few moments of silence lingered, followed by Rin shuffling to the library and picking up street brawler. She inserted the game into her red handheld system and selected training, probably to master the combos in game.
I moved to sit at the round table near the entrance, pulling out my system to play critter crossing.
"Hey Kenma?" Rin didn't look up from her game when speaking.
"Hm?"
"Can I call you my friend?"
I was stunned, a few days ago she didn't like me, why the sudden change?
"I thought you didn't like me." I decided to ask her, instead of just wondering.
"I didn't, but then I realized I was holding a grudge for something you didn't do intentionally, and that maybe you aren't such a bad guy."
Just when I think she can't surprise me more, she manages to do just that. She finds herself to be wrong and admits to it!? This sure is a day for new things.
"Sure, I mean, you're not so bad either." I quickly glance up to see her looking at me so I gave her a small smile.
Today was a good day.

Rin's POV:
I hop into Sakura's car when she picks me up from school, and make an announcement. "As of today, I no longer have a rival!"Sakura grins, "Did you beat him, is it over?" By the looks of it, she was invested in this rivalry.
"Not exactly, we decided to hold a street brawler match for bragging rights as winner instead of the whole Wacman score."
Sakura looked puzzled "Doesn't that mean you're still rivals though?"
I smirked "No, as a matter of fact, I have made a new friend by the name of Kenma Kozume!"
She looked even more confused than before. "Didn't he knock you over, and ruin that book?"
"Well, yeah but he didn't know he did it so I decided not to hold it against him." I tried to explain it as simple as I could.
She finally grasped her head around the situation. "Sounds like you made a right choice. I want to meet this Kenma."
No no no not going to happen any time soon, he doesn't do well with people. "Not right now, maybe eventually."
She pouted and made puppy eyes, strands of her straight, soft caramel hair falling over her face.
"That won't work on me. I know that trick, I use that trick."
She turned to the steering wheel in defeat "Ok ok, I'll wait. But let me meet him before he becomes your boyfriend ." Sakura winks at me, clearly joking.
"One step at a time Sakura," I joke.
She goes wide-eyed "Wait do you plan to?"
I definitely worded that wrong. "No, no of course not! We just became friends and I don't have any feelings for him!" I couldn't help the light pink tint coming to my face, how embarrassing.
Sakura turns back to the wheel, "Let's go home then, mom's waiting"
"Sounds good."
