Before entering the gymnasium where the training would be held at, you actually needed to change attires first since the civilian clothes that you were currently donning wasn't really fit to run and jump in. When the both of you arrived at the locker room, Watanabe handed you the duffel bag so you could go ahead and change.

The attire was mainly just black volleyball shorts, a red shirt, and all the equipment your father bought for you. The knee pads, ankle braces weren't really that comfortable at first but you decided to continue wearing them to avoid any bruises and discoloration, your mother had also gifted you elbow pads before you left the house so you decided to wear it as well.

You gave your civilian attire to Watanabe as she folded them neatly, stuffing them inside the duffel bag and putting the bag inside one of the lockers. Your water and snacks were all in a separate bag for convenience so you didn't have to carry around the duffel bag all the time. After you changed, the both of you exited the room to head inside the gymnasium before you stopped, making Watanabe cease walking as well.

She tilted her head at your actions as you stared at her with a perplexed expression. After a few seconds passed with silence between the two of you, she decided to finally ask if anything was wrong.

"Uhm..Y/n-san? Is anything bothering you..?"

"Watanabe-san, what are you doing?"

You suddenly asked out of the blue making her even more confused. You went along with your parent's offer for a maid with the mindset that the maid would head outside till practice was over yet Watanabe continued to follow you even when you were about to enter the gymnasium.

"...I was going to enter the gym with you, Y/n-san. Your parents said I should follow wherever you go in order to make sure you're safe at all times"

She responded again, a smile on her face. You nearly wanted to smash your face at a wall at this— it wasn't her fault since she was merely following her employer's orders but you couldn't help but have the urge to strangle her. Kids in Japan were independent, children having maids were often connected to Royal families, spoiled kids, and rich individuals which would lower your chances of making connections with other children; parents often told their kids to avoid children that were rather fortunate in the financial aspect since they were either mean or snobs.

"Could you, maybe, just stay outside? You can spend your time at that cafe we saw earlier?"

You suggested. This would be one of the few times you could find some of the haikyuu boys and you didn't want them to avoid you because you had a full-grown woman following you like a dog on a leash. A frown on her face, Watanabe shook her head as she explained why she couldn't do what you asked of her.

"I'm sorry, Y/n-san but your mother instructed me to not leave you alone."

She apologised sincerely and you could only sigh. You didn't want her to risk losing her job over something you wanted, that would be too heartless and you'd definitely feel guilty if you continued to push this subject. Seeing your disappointment, Watanabe looked down and apologised again.

"I'm really sorry, Y/n-san."

Now, it was your turn to shake your head as you flashed her a small smile. You could understand her situation a bit, though not entirely. It wasn't fair of you to make her do something she knew wasn't allowed for the sake of your wishes— you were a considerate person, to some extent.

"No, it's okay, Watanabe-san. I understand, I'm sorry for making such a wish. Let's go?"

You let the subject go, focusing on changing the topic. There was no use in continuing to discuss something that would strain your relationship with Watanabe. Putting on another smile, she eagerly nodded her head as she pushed open the door for you.
