A/n: I'm 'bout to bring some pain for funsies. Short chapter but the following chapters will be lengthy.

Though not much time has passed, maybe a couple of hours at best, you don't quite remember the exact details of how your farewell with Hakuba and the Hirugami siblings went. For the most part, you're quite dissapointed on how limited your time with the latter was as you had only spent a day or less with them.

When you look back, it all seems like some hazy dream your mind created because of nothing more than a lack of amusement. Your eyelids are heavy, your vision is bleary and the  words that leave the lips of the other passengers of the train are nothing but incoherent sentences that your brain is unable to process. There's a fear in your veins, a dread that your time in this world has ran out.

But your body doesn't respond to the anxiety that forms in your chest, there's no physical reply to the agony that drowns you. You're panicking, you want to stay, you don't— you don't want to go back.

Your eyes squeeze shut, unbelieving that this is the end of your journey as you cover your ears desperately with your hands. If you don't see and hear it, it's not true— it can't be true, right?

"Y/n.."

The voice is soft and his words are whispered but you shake your head in denial, you don't care if you look like a spoiled and emotional child right now, you truly don't. Your legs touch your chest and God looks at you in a silent apology. You're curled up into a ball and despite your hands covering your ears, you can hear and feel the footsteps the celestial being makes.

"It's over, Y/n.."

Hearing those words, you chest begins to rise and fall at a worrying rate as you desperately try to regain your breath, your breath intake is sharp and unsteady and your stomach hurts as you feel the hot tears stream down your cheeks uncontrollably. Your eyes sting from the salty pearls as you desperately try to wipe they away, hands shaking.

God's formerly furrowed brows shoot up in surprise and panic as he rushes over to you, wrapping his arms around you in an embrace. You're not quite sure if it's an ability that's always activated or if he's used it solely for you but as your head rests on his chest, you start to slowly calm down.

"I can feel your panic and I'm sorry I can't do anything but take away your pain for the meantime."

Guilt surrounds you in an instant as you clutch his robe tightly, were you being too selfish? He was doing everything he could to rid you of the sadness that ate away at your soul and it was a blessing already that he decided to even send you in that world in the first place.

A small smile graces your features and though it's somewhat forced so that you may provide God some comfort or relief, it makes the weight on your heart lift for a brief moment. Shaking your head to clear your head, you wrap your arms around his torso with your head down. You don't think you can look him in the eyes without crying too much.

"It's fine.."

You mumble under your breath before you feel his fingers comb through your hair as comfort. The tears have yet to dry and soft hiccups still leave your lips repeatedly but you can finally breathe thanks to God and for that, you're grateful. You don't know how much he's sacrificed for you, how many more extra hours he needed to work for you to be able to go to the world, how much backlash he got from the angels who completely disagreed with his choice— but you realize that, for now, he's the only one that'll never leave your side no matter how much stupid mistakes you commit.

"Do you want to read it?"

Blinking, you're suddenly too confused to reply as you try to process his words. You don't quite understand what you're about to read, your father's diary entries? Your mother's grocery shopping list? Akagi's scribbled letter of confession to Aki you found by accident?

Your look at God in a mixture of sudden interest and confusion. Your furrowed brows and deep frown doesn't exactly go unnoticed by him as he looks back at you, unchanged as he waits for your response as if you should know what he's talking about.

"...read what?"

Seeing your very much concerned face at his statement, he began to elaborate in a much more detailed manner.

"The last chapter of Haikyuu."

The colours of your face drain like water being dragged into a sink as your lips part slightly. You're not quite sure what's worse as you start to feel an onslaught of tears washing over you like a wave of a tsunami. You don't want to be a trouble to God so you hold back the sob that theatens to leave you.

Nervously, you nod your head, not really quite sure if you're ready to say farewell just yet but it seems curiosity will always be your downfall at this point. Smiling gently at you, he does a rather complicated gesture with his hand and as a response to this, an angel approaches the two of you with a thin stack of papers in his hands.

The angel has a kind-hearted appearance, his features are soft and nearing to the point that it looks child-like. At your staring, he smiles close-eyedly and your face flushes, not to keen on the fact that he had seen you staring at him and admiring him. Not that it was your fault that he was so good-looking.

As he offers you the stack of papers, you take it with slight hesitation after God gives you a nod of approval. It's very evident that you're nervous because hell, this was a series that brightened up your day when the people around you were being huge asses— it really wasn't a mystery why you were so sad about the news.

You stare at it for a moment, just observing and processing that these pieces of paper is going to make you cry in the end. Haikyuu had too much power over you, it seems. You swallow your saliva as you exhale shakily before your hand moves so that your fingers linger at the cover, ready to open it.

An inhale through the nose, an exhale through the mouth as you began to read the last chapter of your paradise.

As you close the manga with a content smile, you're suddenly so surprised on how well you took it. The corner of your lips are tugged into a soft and satisfied smile that translates into the feelings that well up in your chest. Don't misunderstand or anything, your eyes are still stinging and tears are threatening to spill down your cheeks but somehow, it's not because you're sad or dissapointed that it's over

You're just happy that it was there for you in the first place. You're just glad that Haikyuu was there to cheer you up, that it was there to brighten up your day when financial and academic problems were piling up on you, you were grateful for sometimes being the only reason you were even friends with some people.

"Are you satisfied, Y/n?"

He asks, a fond grin on his face as he places a hand on top of your head, slightly ruffling it but he's surprised when you look at him with  dough-like eyes and a gleeful smile tugging at your lips as a delightful giggle left you.

"I will never be satisfied."

The words that you say makes a deep chuckle to escape him and then, he thinks all the work he's done for you to be born in the Haikyuu world is worth it— because he's never seen you so happy before.

Then, you wake up. Your eyes slowly flutter open and you're met with the sight of the back of a seat in a train. Slowly, you absorb your surroundings as you twist your neck to see if you're really back.

With a deep sigh, you lean back into the seat  and sneak a glance at Akagi who's fast asleep beside you. His soft snores aren't audible but the sight makes your heart soft.

"I'm not leaving anytime soon.."

Silence for a few seconds, then you shift your gaze towards the trembling hand on your lap.

"I hope."
