Maria, THANK YOU! This is Sotam pic number five! It practically saved my life when I saw it!
Every now and then I'd turn away from Stina to look at the other dancers. I would look at them from every angle, trying to find some difference in them from the way Stina and I were dancing. I never did, and that just confused me more. Because something felt... odd. And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't place it.
"Everything okay?" Stina's sugar-sweet voice asked. I found her purple-blue eyes. They were a magnificent color, unlike anything else I'd ever seen. I forced a smile.
"Of course. Um... does anything feel strange to you, though? Like we're doing something wrong?" Maybe she had noticed, too. She hadn't.
"No, everything feels perfect to me," she sighed. I glanced around, hoping to catch a glimpse of one of my friends. "Unless," Stina continued, and I looked back at her. "It's because we haven't kissed yet."
I wrinkled my nose. Since I had kissed Sophie back in fifth grade, I had sworn to myself no more until high school. I shuddered as the memory replayed itself. How stupid of me, to have a crush on my own cousin. But... this was Stina.
And she was my date...
And she wasn't my cousin.
"Um," I hesitated. "I mean, I'm sure the others haven't."
Stina blinked at me. "You sure about that?" she asked.
I thought about it for a second, then shook my head. "You're right. I'll bet you they've all had their make out session for the night by now."
"Exactly. So why don't we?"
I had no argument for her, but everything felt wrong as I slowly leaned in. I watched her beautiful eyes close before I closed my own. Soon I could feel her breath on my cheeks, and then the warmth radiating off her lips. My eyes sprung open and I jumped back.
"I can't, Stina. Not now. Not yet. I just can't."
"That's okay," she said. "For now, we'll just dance."
So Stina and I kept dancing, but the feeling never went away.
I'm sure you guys hate my guts now, for a 350 word chapter. I'm disgusted with myself, too. But, luckily, I get my train of thought back after this chapter, and I will have the next one out soon, hopefully before the day is over. I would totally be able to get the writing done, BUT I have another picture for you peeps (once again, I was supposed to be cleaning), and I still have to get the picture of it, so it might be a while. I'll stop talking now, 'kay?
Hang in there my peeps
~Mia
