Once we were in a more deserted area we stopped.
Ace was still trying to process everything, when he turned to me. "Do you have any idea what you just did?!"
I wasn't exactly sure how I was supposed to respond, so I looked down and stayed quiet.
Ace sighed in frustration. "That was a celestial dragon you just killed. We'll be lucky if only one of the admirals shows up, you know that right?"
I looked to the side, avoiding his look and answering in an embarrassed tone. "Actually..."
Ace continued for me. "You don't, do you?"
I nodded.
He sighed once more. "How much of it do you know?"
My face was literally going red from embarrassment at this point. "Ummm..."
He looked at me shocked for probably like the millionth time that day. "Seriously?!"
I stayed quiet.
"Was what they said true? Are you a Phantomhive?"
I finally looked at him with sad eyes. He had a very serious look on his face. "I... Prefer (l/n), but... Technically it's not incorrect."
The seriousness in his eyes didn't falter for a second. "So you're a celestial dragon... Just like he was... "
I couldn't look him in the eyes anymore, so I turned my look downwards again. "I can guarantee that I'm definitely not a dragon. A dragon slayer yes, bu-"
This time Ace put his hands on both my shoulders. "Let me guess, you don't even know anything about celestial dragons?"
I slowly nodded, still avoiding his look.
Ace let out a deep breath. "Celestial dragons, also known as the world nobles are the descendants of the nineteen of the twenty kings who established what is now known as the World Government. Which means that they have full protection by the government and they are allowed to do whatever they want. "
I clenched my fists and tried to hold back all my emotions because what I was told was horrible. That's when Ace's attitude changed. He hugged me tightly.
I was very confused by the sudden action. Then he started speaking again. "One of my brothers was killed by a celestial dragon..."
Before I knew it, tears were uncontrollably flowing down my face. "I... I'm so sorry..."
He chuckled sadly. "I honestly don't even know why I told you that, but... I do know that if all the world nobles were like you, that situation could've easily been avoided."
When I finally managed to calm down a bit in Ace's arms a certain someone appeared. "How is it, that you have managed to cause such a big mess in such a small time milady?"
Both me and Ace looked at the direction the voice came from and we saw Sebastian standing there with a smirk on his face.
Ace's hold on me didn't loosen at all though. It seemed to me like he was aggravated by the butler.
I was so surprised by his actions that words came out of my mouth without me getting a chance to think them through. "Why..?"
He turned to me with confusion in his eyes.
I continued. "After everything you told me... Why d-"
He cut me off tucking my hair behind my ear with a smile on his face. "Because we're friends!"
Before I could say anything back, Sebastian made himself seen again. "How about we get you back to the manor and get you cleaned up milady?"
I answered. "I'd rather not."
Sebastian wasn't faltered at all by my expected answer. "Oh? But everyone were so excited when they thought that you'd be coming. Not to mention it's not very nice to have guests over and not even bother to show up."
I sighed and nodded knowing that he was right. Ace didn't like the idea, but he knew that there wasn't much he could do about it. So he hesitantly let go of me.
That's when Sebastian turned around towards the direction we were supposed to go. "Milady, will this young man be staying with us as well?"
I didn't know how to respond to this. All I did was start to look at Ace with hopeful eyes.
He started grinning and put his hand over my shoulders. "Well what other choice do I have. I can't let (y/n) get herself into anymore trouble, now can I?" I smiled in return and hugged his side.
(I decided to use the same servants from black butler (besides Sebastian, who is already a part of this story) because they're kind of awesome and I'm too lazy to make up some other awesome characters so ummm... Sorry if it bothers someone.)
Once we got to the Phantomhive manor, we were happily greeted by Finnian, Baldroy, Mey-Rin and Tanaka. Even though Ace was pretty convinced that I was a nice person, he wasn't expecting such a warm welcome. Although it was quite quickly disturbed by a certain butler, who gave three of them a death stare to let them know that they were out of line, and to top it off in front of a guest as well. They quickly took a few steps back and toned down their happiness a little.
I then giggled and hugged them. "Oh come on guys. Just ignore him, okay? It's good to see you all again!"
Then they calmed down and hugged back with excitement. Sebastian on the other sighed. "You will never change, will you mistress?"
Sebastian then started giving out orders. Baldroy was supposed to make dinner, Mey-Rin was supposed to prepare a room for our newest guest, Finnian was supposed to do something in the garden, Tanaka was fine how he was and then he guided me to the study to deal with some paperwork related to some of my family's companies. Usually he took care of those himself when I was away, but whenever I was around, he didn't give me any other choice, but to deal with it myself. He said that it was important for many different reasons.
Ace had been looking around the building for a bit, until he reached the study, the room where I was in. "Wow, this place is really big!"
I looked up from my papers to look at the man, who just entered the room. "A little too big for my liking, but at least it's smaller than the castle."
He came up to my desk, quickly put both of his hands on the desk roughly enough to shake some of the things on it and looked at me in total shock. "YOU HAVE A CASTLE AS WELL?!?"
I started nervously laughing. "Sadly... Yes."
Ace calmed down a bit seeing that I was getting a bit uncomfortable and then he saw the papers on the desk. "What are these?"
"Nothing much. Just some work that needs to be done."
He walked to the other side of the desk, came closer to me and took one of the papers in his hand. "Can I help?"
I wasn't expecting that. "What?"
"I mean, if I help, you'll finish sooner and then we can both have some fun, right?"
I started laughing, but because of it Ace felt embarrassed and tried to defend himself. "Hey! I mean it!"
I simply gave him a big smile. "Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude. It's just, I never imagined for you to actually be this sweet."
His face immediately turned red and he put on an angry face. "I'm not sweet! I'm... Considerate?"
I giggled. "Why can't you be both?"
He didn't have a comeback this time. He stumbled with his words until he almost yelled. "Can I help or not?!"
"Sure. Grab a chair and I'll show you whay you have to do."
Ace was stunned by my answer. "Wait... Really? Aren't those like important documents?"
I giggled once again. "Yes."
"And you're going to let a pirate near them?"
"Ace... You're not just any ordinary pirate. You're my friend and I trust you! So if this is truly what you want then it's fine by me."
He quickly grabbed a chair and sat next to me. Almost as if he was afraid that I might change my mind at any given moment.
