"We've finally made it to Reverse Mountain." Stated Ace both excited and worried. Lucy questioned him right after. "Why is it called Reverse Mountain? It looks normal to me."

"That's because this river doesn't start at the top of this mountain. It starts on the other side." Levy questioned him this time. "So your saying that the water flows up the mountain?" Romeo was excited about this new bit of information. "Really?! That's awesome!"

Cana, also with a worried expression asked. "Awesome or not, but how are we supposed to get to the other side."

Ace answered as best as he could. "Honestly... I don't know. I've only crossed it one way, never the other."

I smirked. "Well I've got an idea."

Lucy asked a little scared. "A... And what would th... That be..?"

I simply ran up to Juvia offering her my right hand. "What do you say we get the ship to the other side together?" She also smirked in response and took my hand. "Let's do this!" Lucy was shaking at this point. "U... Ummm wh... What are you t... Two going to d... Do?" Ace was also intrigued. "She's right! How the hell are you two going to get us all to the other side.

Both of us stayed silent with gigantic smiles on our faces. While still having one of our hands intertwined with the others, we both raised our free hand in unison.

That's when Happy started screaming. "The mountain! I... It's sinking!" Carla snorted back. "Calm down you idiot. The mountain isn't sinking, we are going up."

Ace was both confused and frightened when he saw this. "H... How is this happening." Erza put her hand on the pirate's shoulder in an attempt to calm him down. "It's Juvia and (y/n). They're controlling enough water for the ship to be able to be moved over the mountain."

"Seriously?! What can't she do?" His face turned red when he noticed what he had just asked. "I... I mean, wh... What can't you all do?"

Natsu burst out laughing. "Nothing! We are members of Fairy Tail after all." Gajeel added with a smirk. "And now so are you, so you better get used to it!"

Ace turned serious at that statement. "You're wrong! I am and always will stay true to Whitebeard!" After a little arguing we landed the ship with a splash. Ace then remembered something. "Now we're in the calm belt... Which means we'll be attacked by many sea kings."

Happy got extatic. "Are these sea kings like giant fish?!" Natsu started drooling. "Mmmm... Giant grilled fish for lunch!"

Then it happened. One by one the sea kings started attacking us and half of our crew had made it into a competition. A competition of catches the most sea kings or... Giant fish, as they put it. Finally when we exited the calm belt it was unknown about how we hadn't sunk with all those sea kings on board.

After a lot of arguing on who won and eating, Ace was stood near the railing on his own. I decided to go talk to him. "Hey."

He answered without taking his eyes off the ocean. "Hey."

I started looking at the beautiful scenery just like he did. "You know... You can stay true to Whitebeard and join another crew." Ace looked at me with irritation in his eyes, but before he could say anything I continued. "But you don't have to." His expression softened a bit as I said that. "But why?" I put my hand on his cheek and looked deeply into his eyes. "Because... Having you on our crew would be awesome and everyone already sees you as one of us, but... In the end no one can make that decision for you. You'll have to make it yourself." He gave me an answer hesitantly. "I'll... Think about it. Is... That okay?"

I gave him a warm smile in return. "Take all the time you need."

A deep sadness still filled his eyes, and I had a feeling about why. I hugged him in hopes of making him feel at least a little bit better. "Whenever you want to talk about... Anything. Know that I'll always be there to listen, alright?" Ace returned the hug. He held me almost like he was afraid he'd never get another chance. "I... I don't understand how... How you can do this to me..."

I tried to look at him since I wasn't sure what exactly he meant by it, but I couldn't because his hold on me didn't loosen. Almost like all he wanted in that moment was to feel someone's warmth. "I... Don't understand."

Whilst not loosening his hold on me, Ace chuckled. "I don't either... But, somehow you manage to always know exactly what I need... Even if I don't know it. Thank you." We stayed there in each others arms for a while that evening, until we were called to dinner. Then we jumped away from each other our faces as red as tomatoes, almost as if we had been doing something we shouldn't have, although technically there was nothing wrong with it... Right?

That same night when everyone was asleep, I woke up to sudden movements in the bed. When I opened my eyes I saw a sweaty Ace shaking in seemingly fear. Since I didn't want to wake him I figured that going to get a towel to dry his sweat with be the best thing I could do. So I started to carefully move over him, since the bed was against the wall and he was sleeping on the edge, but when I was above him something unexpected happened that almost made me scream out in shock, but luckily I didn't because if I would've, then Ace wouldn't have been the only person I would've woken up. Ace had pulled me close to him unconsciously. He held me tight without any sign of letting go.

After a few minutes like that, he finally showed signs of starting to calm down a bit. Even his hold on me started to loosen, but I still couldn't get myself free from it. At some point I even stopped trying since I knew that there was no point anymore.

So I just laid there on top of my fellow comrade and in his unintentional warm embrace until I finally dozed off once more.
