I felt like I owed the pirates at least some kind of an explanation. "Well ummm... Fairy Tail is a wizard guild."
Gray added with a smirk. "Not just any old wizard guild. It's the best in Fiore."
Shanks sighed. "Do you actually take me for an idiot?"
Ace came to my defense. "Wait... This might sound crazy, but it does make some sense."
The red haired man was a little amused by Ace's attempt to clear things up. "Oh? And in what way does it make sense?"
I agreed with Shanks. "Yeah Ace. I understand why Shanks would think that we're making fun of you guys, but I also don't understand how it would seem logical."
"How? That's easy. First of all, the things (y/n) did in the war... There's no way any devil fruit gives someone such a variety of abilities, and Shanks, you know that no one can eat two devil fruits and survive... Plus, she hadn't heard of either Whitebeard nor Gol D Roger before the incidents that occurred in Sabaody Archipelago. And third... She probably doesn't even know who's ship we're on right now."
"Actually... I do know that. It's not that hard to figure out that Shanks is the captain here."
Ace sighed. "Yeah, but did you know that he's one of the four emperors?"
I started thinking. "The four emperors?"
Before any of the pirates could say anything else the sick Natsu on the floor made himself heard once more. "I don't know any of those people either."
Gray then hit Natsu's head with his foot. "Yeah, well you rarely know anything you dumbass. But... This time, I have to admit that I don't know any of those people either, and emperors? What emperors?"
Shanks said sarcastically. "You three make it sound like you're from a different world or something."
Gray got annoyed. "Oh yeah? And so what if we are, huh?"
I sighed. "Gray, please! Don't start picking a fight with these guys. They're not our enemies."
Gray argued back. "They're pirates!"
I gave him a scary look in return. "Gray... From now on, so are we!"
He backed off and started apologizing immediately.
Shanks started laughing. "Remind me not to mess with you, alright?"
Ace was confused. "Wait! What do you mean so are you?"
I smiled at my pirate friend. "What else is a wanted criminal supposed to do?" Right after saying that I started to fall. Ace immediately freaked out and ran to catch me. "(y/n)!!" All the others ran to my side as well. They were all worried about me. Gray asked concerned. "Are you okay?" One of the pirates, who I presumed was the crew's doctor spoke his mind. "I should probably take a look at her. After all, she did just wake up, and the war was only a week ago."
I tried to protest and smiled weakly in Ace's strong arms. "No, I'm just a little tired."
The pirate's grip only tightened on me. "This is all my fault..."
I tried reassuring him. "No it's not, Ace."
"Yes it is, (y/n)! You went to Marineford because of me and... I don't know how or what you did, but... The only reason I'm alive is because of you!"
"You're exaggerating."
Ace protested. "No I'm not. My faith was sealed when I took that hit from Akainu, but somehow when I woke up, there wasn't even a sign of it left. How..?"
I sighed. "During the war... Do you perhaps remember seeing my eyes... Ummm... How do I put this..?"
Ace answered my question without me having to finish it. "You're eyes turned red..."
Gray started questioning me know. "Yeah, and so what? You're an alpha, that's why, but what does it have to do with this?"
One of the pirates asked shocked. "Sh... Sh... She's wh... What?!"
I trailed off. "Actually... Not anymore." Then my eyes turned blue for a few seconds.
Gray was shocked seeing my now blue instead of red eyes. "What? But how is that possible?!"
I gave him a big smile in return. "The spark that makes a werewolf an alpha... It was either keeping it or saving a dear friend of mine."
Gray chuckled. "In other words, you traded power for someone's life, huh? Not many people would do that you know. That's probably one of the reasons why everyone in the guild agreed with gramps about you becoming the next guild master."
Ace looked at me wide eyed. "Why..? Why would you do something like that..?"
I gave him a warm smile in return. "I don't need power with what I can't protect the people I care about. All I need is the power to be able to protect my comrades. So long as I can have the strength to do that, I don't care if I'm weaker than everyone in the world."
Shanks decided to take part in the ongoing conversation once more. "You are a very interesting person (y/n) Phantomhive..."
I corrected him. "Actually, it's (l/n)."
One of the pirates called out to Shanks. "Hey captain, there's a ship coming our way!"
Gray brushed it off. "It's probably just the rest of our gui- I mean crew."
Shanks started questioning us. "How many of you are there?"
Gray answered the pirate captain with his usual uninterested expression. "Counting Natsu, me and (y/n), 16. Oh there's also this butler guy, who's temporarily traveling with us."
I smiled. "So everyone agreed to come after all."
Gray smirked. "Of course! No one back home would say no to a request of yours. Plus, you said that you might end up in danger and we can't just sit around on our asses when we know that."
"Thanks! You mentioned something about gramps having some kind of conditions earlier."
"Yeah. Well, you already know about being the next guild master."
I nodded and then he continued. "Besides that, he had two other conditions. One, you're also going to be the captain of our... Crew and secondly, he wants you to check in with him every week to let him know how everything's going. Oh and just so you know we got in touch with all the other guilds like you asked, except for Crime Sorciere. We couldn't get in touch with them."
I softly laughed. "Don't worry too much about it. I can get in touch with Jellal myself if need be. Actually it might even be easier that way."
Ace asked wearily. "Who's Jellal..?"
I smirked. "Jellal? What does it matter, who he is?"
At this point his expression had darkened. "I... I..." He sighed and I started laughing. "You're adorable you know that right."
The young pirate got flustered and started denying it right away. "Wh... What?! I... I am not!"
I continued laughing. "Yes you are!" All the others started laughing as well, including Shanks. Ace got mad at that. "What the hell are you all laughing at, huh?!"
Shanks replied sarcastically. "Oh nothing."
Right as Ace was about to argue some more with the red haired pirate, I quickly said something. "My brother!"
Ace both calmed down a bit and was confused by my seemingly random outburst. "What..?"
"Jellal... He's my brother."
After hearing that, Ace was silent for a few seconds and then he looked away from me in embarrassment. "Oh..."
Finally the ship we saw earlier arrived. I tried getting up to move towards our ship and my friends, but before I could do that Ace picked me up bridal style. I tried to protest, but in all honesty I was too weak to do much of that and both of us new it. "Wh... What do you think you're doing?"
Ace gave me a reassuring smile. "You saved my life. The least I could do is help you out in return, and you definitely need it right now."
