Mysteryheart

She walked with Jackie. She told him that she loved him.

What now StarClan? Gonna take him away from me too? Are there rules against this too?

She yawned. "I'm tired, Jackie."

"Go to sleep then." He said it.

Well, obviously. She thought.

"What about the... pups?" Mysteryheart asked while yawning.

He smiled at her. "They're sleeping."

"Don't we have to watch-"

"No. No, we don't. Now sleep."

"Whatever." She grumbled.

Once her eyes closed, sleep took her.

"Mysteryheart, you were woken last time." Came Graystar again.

"Y-you're dead?" Her eyes watered.

She looked at me. "Don't cry, my sweet."

"Who else died?"

Dawntail appeared. The mother that was less than any mother. Flametail, Tinyear, Cloudpaw, Sunstorm, and Bearpaw appeared as well.

Her eyes watered more at the sight of Bearpaw.  "Bearpaw." She yelped.

"It's alright. StarClan is my home." He offered a small smile.

Cloudpaw smiled as well. "Hello, new leader."

"New leader? No! Graystar... is the l-leader." She sobbed. "None of you should have died! I could've saved you, Sunstorm! No!"

Bearpaw looked at her. He didn't have much to say. "It's okay, love."

"We've got other things to spread around." Dawntail said, looking at Graystar.

Mysteryheart tilted her head. "What is it?"

Sunstorm looked over at Graystar. "It's time you know something."

Graystar smiled. "I'm your mother."

Those three words were like slamming her down with one blow. It hurt her to know Graystar kepted such a secret. It hurt her to know that Dawntail neglected her for this.

"A-are you my real brother?" Her voice cracked.

He smiled at her, like it could bring her from the saddness. "I am. I just barely found out myself."

"Who else knew?"

"I did." Bearpaw admitted.

"But that's not what this is about." A voice interrupted.

Mosspelt came forward.

She looked at him with love. "Dad." She whispered. "Are you my dad?"

"Yes. I am your father. The reason me and Dawnpelt weren't together. I couldn't pretend to love someone when I loved your real mother, now could I?" He asked her.

"No." She answered his rhetorical question.

Graystar spoke up. "Are you mad?"

"No." She said again.

"Okay..." Graystar replied.

"So, I'm leader?"

Graystar perked up. "Once you return and go to the Moonpool with Redfang." (A/N Redfang didn't die, right? I can't remember. What a terrible author I am to this book. Please comment if you know!)

"Okay."

"You must return soon." Bearpaw told her. "A Clan doesn't work properly without a leader. They need you more than ever right now."

Mysteryheart nodded. "Can I take Jackie and the pups."

"You had pups?" Bearpaw questioned.

"No. Took poor abandoned pups from the woods. Me and Jackie are caring for them." She explained.

"Do you love him?" He asked another question.

She couldn't lie to him. "Yes."

"Good. You deserve the happiness, and that, he can bring you."

She smiled at his words. He loved her enough to let her go.

"You must return, Mysteryheart!" They all called.

Everything started to fade away. And she woke.

She woke up before everyone else. "Jackie! Jackie!" She nudged him.

He blinked from his slumber. "Yes, Mystery?"

"I need to leave!" She said, jumping around.

"Why's that?"

"StarClan has sent a message! They need me to return! I need to leave." She explained. "I have a Clan to lead. A Clan doesn't work properly without a leader." She repeated Bearpaw's words.

Jackie stood up. "You can't leave me. I-I love you."

"You're coming with, silly furball!" She wacked him playfully. "And so are they! Now help me break out!"

"Leave my two-legs?"

She smiled. "Yes! I mean, you're already learning Clan talk! C'mon please. Without you I'm not myself. I won't have a mate that finally can stay with me!"

"I'm not leaving home."

She was shocked. "Since I love you, it only makes sense to let you go."

"You are my home." He smiled brightly. "Wherever you go, I follow the footsteps. I will always be with you. I'll learn the ways of your Clan. And StarClan for you, my sweet."

Her face was full of happiness. "Great! Let's go!"

"Hey, now." He stopped her. "We must prepare for this. We go to the park again tomorrow. Sneak the pups in the back. Where you were hunting, we'll sneak through there. Fido will cover our tracks and make sure no one will find us. He might even come along with."

"Yeah! This is perfect. I love you!" She smiled.

"I love you too." He licked her cheek. "We must eat as much as we can. Winter is here, we don't want to starve when we first go out there."

She smiled proudly. "You did listen to the things I tought you."

Jackie nodded. "When it comes to you, of course."

"Who wouldn't want to learn from the best teacher?" She bragged.

He laughed. "Now let's get your stomach stuffed."

"Okay, fat Clan-dog." Mysteryheart said.

"Clan-dog already? No ceremony?" He cocked his head.

She looked at him. "Every new member must be welcomed. Even pups. And when you become apprenticed, or become a warrior." She explained. "You get a ceremony."
