Chapter 44

Elsa's POV
I woke up to a sharp pain in my leg. It felt like it had been ripped to shreds. I opened my eyes. Where was I? Jack was here asleep next to me, and Anna was on the other side of the lounge, and Hiccup was here? A lady with long brown hair approached me.
"Are you feeling okay?" she asked.
"I feel like I'm being eaten alive" I said croakily.
"Right" she said walking over to the kitchen. She returned with a bottle of something weird.
"Open" she said.
"What is it?" I asked cautiously.
"Just some pain medication. Lift up your tongue"
She put a few drops under it. Surprisingly the pain went away.
"Where can I get some of that?" I asked. She laughed.
"It's made by the healers in our pack. Better than Panadol huh"
"Yeah" I said in disbelief.
"Here, I'm Elinor by the way." she said giving me the bottle. "You're going to need to keep taking that for the nasty gash on your leg"
"Gash?" I asked. "Oh from that wolf."
"Wolf?"
"Yeah. The big black one that's been running around in the woods behind our house"
"What?! Fergus!" she called.
"What women?!" he said sleepily.
"That black wolf did this."
"I would've thought as much" he replied.
"Is the infection any better?"
"Infection?" I asked aghast.
Elinor undid the bandage around my leg. It was black.
"It's travelling" Fergus said.
"What?!" Jack said startled out of sleep. "What's travelling?" He rubbed his head.
"The infection" Fergus repeated. He stood up and looked at my leg.

Jacks POV
"Oh god"
The black had traveled down to her foot. "I'm getting the feeling it's not just an infection." I said. Elsa started shaking. "Elsa?"
"Why.. is.. m, my.. leg.. black???" she stuttered.
"We don't know anymore" Elinor replied sadly. Elsa moaned.
"She's scared..." I said "she's going to change"
"She can't change with her leg like that!!" Elinor yelled running out to the backyard. She came back with a plant in her hand and pulled off a leaf. She put it in Elsa's mouth. "Chew" she demanded. Elsa started to chew, her eyelids dropped soon she was asleep.
For some reason the black spread even faster, Elsa tossed and turned in her sleep, whimpering.
"She's having a nightmare?" I asked.
"Looks like it." Fergus said.
"Look" Elinor pointed. Anna and Hiccup had woken up in all the commotion and came over to us.
"Why does Elsa's face have black lines on it?" Hiccup asked. He was right.
The veins all over Elsa's face were black. Suddenly, her eyes opened with a start. They were yellow...
