Elsa's POV
It had been a month since Jack had died. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. I hadn't been to school since it happened. I literally just sat at home I my room staring out at the woods behind me. I was to scared to even go out into the backyard. Everyone kept calling me but I never answered. I didn't even talk I Anna anymore. My powers were dimming. The school had rang the home phone at least once a day, Anna kept pretending to be mum and make excuses for me.
Talking about my parents. They know everything that's going on, with my powers and they know Jacks dead and they haven't even called once. I don't get it. I could feel myself slipping away. I was losing my sanity to a big black hole in my head. I didn't want to be that girl anymore. I got up off my bed and walked downstairs into the backyard. If I wanted to get back to normal then I needed to face my fears. I used to love wolves. This was silly.
Not all wolves are aggressive. But.. The whole pack had attacked Jack. That was nowhere near here though. Maybe there's two? I was struggling to walk. It was getting harder to lift my feet of the ground.
"Baby steps Elsa" I whispered to myself "Baby steps"
I got to the wooden fence that lined our backyard. It was only a short little thing. A white picket fence like we used to have at our old house. Anna and I had painted it and drawn flowers and snowflakes on it. This one was plain in comparison really. I lifted one leg over and stepped into the woods. I walked a little further in. I was shaking. I closed my eyes and took a deep shaky breath.
I didn't move. I just listened. I could hear leaves rustling and claws scrapping on wood. "It's just a squirrel" I told myself. It was like this for about ten minutes before I decided to start walking further. I heard rushing water. I walked towards the sound letting it guide me towards what must have been a river.
I held my breath at the sight. The river ran through the clearing I was standing in. Trees towered above me. I breathed in the fresh crisp scent of the water and leaves, just the woods in general.
I heard it again.
Rustling leaves. Clicking nails. I held my breath. I heard a sigh. I wasn't me.
Wolf
Wolf
Wolf
The word rang trough my head.
Run was all I wanted to do, but my feet wouldn't move. I turned around slowly.
This wolf wasn't like the wolves that attacked Jack. It was pure white. It's eyes were ice blue. I'd never seen anything like it in my life.
