Floor 10
Seven months later...
Variiya's PoVIt's been a really long while since we moved up because we failed the test of the 10th Floor, but finally, we're here.
Khun was out meeting our (hopefully) new teammate. He said that he knew him, (perhaps he was another Khun, I had a feeling ) so probably, he'd join our group. Novick was out training after he lost a small battle with me. When would this dude cut me some slack?
To relax, I was walking around the busy marketplace. I realized I've been going out a lot lately because I still avoided staying indoors all the time. With every chance I've got, I wanted to roam around. I have never really done that in my early years of living.
I was able to get my jade needle repaired (for 50, 000 points. Khun insisted that wasn't so expensive but I still lost so much, noooo) but I haven't really used it for battles. I have gotten quite used to Lambent Light, besides, it makes me feel closer to my mother.
Walking around, I was observing the fancy trinkets in the stalls, curious about what they were, but I forced myself not to buy such useless things. All I needed was my necklace.
I studied it and smiled, I knew I've come a long way from the 2nd Floor. I'm growing up, I'm changing, I'm not burdened by my treacherous past. I think about it from time to time, but it doesn't stop me from getting any better.
Lost in my thoughts, I accidentally bumped into a brunette of a man. He bowed his head, "Oh, I'm sorry."
And I quickly nodded, telling him it was fine. As he turned away, a small pin fell down from his coat pocket. "Sir," I picked it up. "I think you dropped this..." My voice trailed out as I saw him hurriedly walking through the sea of Regulars. I think it would be best for me to return it. I told myself and got a better look at the pin.
My heart nearly stopped.
The pin had the same pattern and design of my necklace. This was the crest of the Kaitorin. My mouth fell open as I studied it in scrutiny. Its outline had the same colors as my necklace, Was he of the same branch family of the Kaitorin as me?
I regained my composure, going after the man through the crowd. Did he intentionally drop this for me to find? Questions came piling up in my head, with each thought, I tried to justify it with an answer. I've nearly lost him 3 times, but I saw him every time I lost sight of him, it seemed like he was waiting for me.
I followed him to a deserted part of the town and he entered an old building. The man was dressed in lightweight armor of gray and black. A purple scarf was wrapped around his neck, flying wildly in the air. I summoned my rapier and went in, preparing for an attack.
The empty warehouse wasn't dark, and I saw the mysterious man standing right there, a blank look in his face. He simply just summoned a short sword in his hand and I advanced on him, convinced he would attack.
