Since the incident with Severus when James had asked Lily out to Hogsmeade, Lily was continuously pestered by him over Hogsmeade. Six days after the episode in the Great Hall, on Thursday, James was driving her up the wall.
"No."
But -"
"No."
"We -"
"There is no 'we'."
"Evans -"
"My name is Lily."
"Are you -"
"Just gonna keep interrupting you? Yup."
"So -"
"Nup, there's no point trying."
"That -"
"Yes, that was a good chat, I know, and for your information, I'm going to Hogsmeade tomorrow with Sev, so don't pester me anymore."
"Right, then."
"I know you don't like him -"
"Hate, more like."
"Don't interrupt me!"
"Hypocrite much?"
"Shuddup, Potter."
That's not a real word."
"No, but shut up is."
"No, that's two real words."
"Shuddup, Potter."
"Now we're back to square one."
"This is so entertaining," Sirius grinned.
James and Lily turned around to find half of Gryffindor gathered in the common room watching intently, with Sirius, Peter (Remus was reading in the corner), Alice, Marlene, Willow, Jazmin, Darcy, Frank, Harry and Luke (Jazmin's boyfriend) at the front of the crowd.
"Did you seriously not notice us?" Willow crossed her arms.
"Oh, hi Will, I didn't see you there," Lily said.
"Or any of the rest of us," Frank added.
"Shuddup, Longbottom," Lily said.
"As James so wisely pointed out, that isn't an actual real word," Frank grinned.
Lily sighed, murmuring something under her breath that sounded like, "Boys," as she walked up to her dormitory, followed by the other girls who shared her dormitory, Alice, Marlene, Jazmin and Darcy. The crowd quickly broke up.
