A/N:

Hey, I just realised, I got over 500 views! Yay! Thank you! This is a bit of a short one, sorry, but it's where Lily begins to figure it all out properly.

Lily put her hands into her pockets. The night was biting cold for a mid-autumn evening. She wasn't meant to be out, but after Prefect duties she wanted to go have a walk. Remus hadn't been doing Prefect duties with her, it was sick (and it was the full moon, which explained it for Lily).

She knew Remus was a werewolf. But how come James, Sirius and Peter always returned after full moons scratched and badly-injured?

They must go with him, she thought. Try to help him. Risky, though. Wouldn't they have been bitten by now?

The moon illuminated the Black Lake, which was a while away now; she was currently near the Forbidden Forest. Lily had pulled her jumper tighter and was grasping her wand in her closed hand when she heard it out of nowhere, a bloodcurdling howl. A wolf's howl - or a werewolf's howl.

Then she heard hooves against the ground; Lily spun around. A stag was there, and it rubbed its face against her side, as though trying to move her towards the castle. It had brown eyes, though brighter colours were blurred around the borders of where his iris met his pupil and whites ...

Hang on - what? Lily thought. It looks like ...

The stag kept on nudging her. "Alright!" She began to make her way back towards the castle. Must before she lept, she could swear she saw a dark black dog's paw and a rat's furless tail out of the shadows which the trees of the Forbidden Forest cast on the ground.
