In case you're confused we just skipped the second semester of fourth grade, now the Marauders are in fifth grade.
James yawned and sat up, putting on his glasses. He glanced to the calendar on his bedroom wall - and then it struck him. "It's today. Today ... whoo! Fifth grade, yeah!"
He jumped out of bed, gathered his things (which he had packed last-minute the night before) and ran downstairs where breakfast was already prepared for him.

Mr. and Mrs. Evans returned to Platform 9 & 3/4. Petunia lagged behind, pouting, whilst Lily skipped ahead excitedly.
"Lily!"
Alice and Marlene ran out of the mist; behind them came Mary, the Grey sisters, Fifi, Darcy, Jazmin and Jennifer.
"Hi, guys!" Lily hugged Alice and Marlene.
"Hey, Evans!"
Lily whipped around, along with her friends, and none of them were all too surprised to see James, Sirius, Remus and Peter. Their parents were all there (apart from Walburga and Orion Black), talking and chatting.
"Who are those boys, Lily-Flower?" Mr. Evans asked once the Marauders turned away.
"Potter, Black and Pettigrew," Lily pointed at each of them in turn, "and then the nice one, Remus Lupin. Remus is the other Gryffindor Prefect."
"Wait, you're the fifth year's Gryffindor Prefect?!"
Lily turned around. All her friends' eyes suddenly turned to the Prefect badge on Lily's collar.
"Oh, yeah, and Remus is the other one," Lily nodded. "I was gonna tell you guys, and also I have to go to Prefect duties instead of the normal compartments, sorry."
"That's great, Lil', you got the job!" Mary exclaimed excitedly. "You have to tell us the password to the Prefects' Bathroom, though!"
"Maybe," Lily smirked.
The doors to the scarlet Hogwarts Express suddenly opened, and everybody was in a rush to board it.
"Bye, Mum, Dad!" Lily yelled over the noise. She smiled at her sister to try and say, See you soon, Tuney, but Petunia wasn't looking.
