-Amane's POV-
I can't believe Tsukasa had to drag me here. I suck at talking to people, and I know well that he wanted me to come because of the awkward incident that happened a couple of days ago. Nene-san tried talking to me and introducing me to her friends dozens of time, I didn't look interested or really like I was paying attention, but I actually was. I just don't really want to look weird. I didn't want to come because I knew Ao-san and Mei-san would both hate us. They don't seem to, but deep down they have their own suspicions. They know I'm introverted and overprotective of my brother, but soon they fell under the trance of Sakura's menacing voice, which he despised more than his brother taking his doughnuts. Everyone then thought they were dangerous; but who said they weren't? I introverted myself for a reason, something that happened that I don't want to happen again. I can't get too terribly close to anyone.
"So, Nene-chan why do you call Amane-san, Amane-san instead of kun?" Ao-san asked Nene-san.
I was eavesdropping, glaring up from my phone every once in a while to make sure daikon-leg's response wasn't too detailed. I didn't want to sound rude, even if I am.
"I just feel more comfortable saying that!" Nene-san said, waving her hands and smiling like it was nothing.
I personally admire Nene-chan's way of looking out for everyone. Even someone like me who isn't friends with her- but is a bit more forced into it by my brother. Sometimes I can't help but envy it actually. I sometimes wish I was close to her, maybe I'd be influenced for the better.
Tsukasa leaned over and whispered something into Nene-san's ear. I tried to hear, but his whisper was so freaking quiet!
Nene-san looked at Tsukasa like he was crazy. She had an expression that said, 'That's my death sentence if I did that!' and I couldn't help myself.
"What's with the look? Did Tsukasa say something wrong?" I asked, not looking up.
"Heh?!" Nene-san sounded shocked, and I couldn't help myself but let out a smirk.
"He was paying attention?" Mei-san observed me wide-eyed.
"He always does, it's a bit creepy. But it was nothing!" Tsukasa reassured me, but I could tell by the look of his eyes he was lying.
I just let out a faint sigh and went on Mariokart to ease of the sense something was off.
"Does your brother always act disinterested like that, and bored..?" Ao-san asked
"He usually isn't disinterested, but I dunno about bored." Tsukasa shrugged, then glanced at me.
"He's certainly quiet," Mei-san observed, "He's an introvert?"
"Yeah, " Tsukasa started, "He doesn't like to do anything really but sit around at home playing Mariokart or texting his friends, Kou-kun and Mitsuba-kun."
I furrowed my eyebrows, it's true. I couldn't deny it, but letting out things about me like that is something I don't appreciate.
"There's a fair coming up, " Nene started.
I knew where this was going...
"Maybe, just maybe. We could all go together, maybe Amane-san could become more comfortable around us and we could even all have fun together." Nene concluded.
"I like that idea!" Mei-san exclaimed.
"I do also!" Ao-san said, stifling a smile.
"Yeah!" Tsukasa punched the air.
"What about you, Amane-san?" Nene-san looked at me.
I raised my head, "Sure..." I muttered, going back to Mariokart.
"What about his Mariokart?" Ao-san pointed at my phone.
"I'll take it away!" Tsukasa declared.
"Okay!" Nene-san brightened up.
I opened my mouth to protest, but Mei-san shot a glare that told me that he was in too deep.
-At Nene's Home, Nene's POV-
I can't believe I get to go to the fair with Ao-chan, Mei-chan, Tsukasa-kun, and Amane-san! Maybe I could do what Tsukasa-kun told me earlier... Call him Amane-kun soon, and look at his face, it'll be priceless, is what Tsukasa-kun told me. I guess I could try, but I couldn't worry about that, I had to get ready. I opened the doors to my wardrobe and looked at all of my outfits. After around two minutes I decided on an outfit. A cream colored sailor dress, which reaches my knees and has a scalloped hemline. The lining of the skirt is a deep magenta. My collar, cuffs, and pockets are all a deep brown. My collar bow is cream colored with brown stripes. I also wear the regulation shoes, but my brown tights are not standard. Her tights also have a small half-moon pattern near the ankles, with a skull brooch above the bow to top it all off.
"Good enough!" I'd declare, running outside and going to the fair.
I then realized when I got there- It was mid-October. The fair has turned to horror, people dressed up in horrifying costumes to scare everyone, any age. A shiver fell down my spine. I reached the entrance gate with my ticket, only seeing that Tsukasa-kun and Amane-san were there.
"Where are Ao-chan and Mei-chan?" I asked.
"They said they had to go to the bathroom." Tsukasa-kun replied.
"Okay!" I said, determined now.
"Also, I got Amane to talk here, I promised him doughnuts." Tsukasa said, proud of himself obviously.
"Shut up..." Amane muttered, kicking Tsukasa.
I let out a small chuckle as Mei-chan and Ao-chan left the bathroom.
"Did you three realize that the theme is now horror?" Ao-chan looked at me, Amane-san, and Tsukasa-kun.
"No." I said.
"Nope!" Tsukasa shook his head.
"They forgot to put the ad up for the Halloween edition this year." Amane said.
"Oh, okay... Hopefully Nene-chan doesn't get scared. Mei-chan said she's going to take us through all of the haunted houses." Ao-chan said, smiling worried for me.
"I won't be scared!" I declared.
"Boo!" Amane-san hopped in front of me and I jumped onto Mei-chan's back
Everyone in the group laughed at me.
"Who votes that Amane protects Nene-chan!" Tsukasa-kun speedily said, laughing while looking at Amane, who just looked shocked.
"Me!" Ao-chan and Mei-chan said together.
"Wha-" Amane just looked bamboozled.
"I promise, Amane-kun that I won't jump or punch you." I said.
Amane looked at me, big amber eyes as big and round as a full moon and blushing.
-Amane's POV-
Kun?! When was I Amane-kun?!
"O-okay..." I said, "Nene-chan." I smiled, walking with Tsukasa and Nene-chan to the entrance of the fair.
I could tell Nene-chan was trying to sneak Amane-kun in her sentence. She didn't want me to realize until later on. But- Still, kun... It feels nice that Nene-chan now refers to me as a friend. As long as I have a place in her life I feel fine. I just don't know why...
