It was dawn when he began to see from the horizon what were the beaches of the Takoba Municipal Beach Park. As his ship started to resurface, he wondered for the tenth time why he had to work, of all places, in Japan...
But then the pay was good, and he kind of wanted a small vacation, and do something new... still teaching was not one of the new experiences he wanted, but... who was he to complain?
Still, he was disappointed by the view that welcomed him, he remembered from his childhood that Takoba Beach used to be a beautiful place, spotless without a single speck of dust... but now, it was more akin to a massive trash deposit.
Vowing himself to make someone clean it or even himself, he made his ship approach the small dock, on which he quickly dumped his luggage bag and his backpack. After reminding himself that he was not forgetting something and his ship was all in order he then jumped off.
Ignoring a grimace product of the horrible stench that permeated the air, he pulled out a small remote from his pocket, and let the ship go auto-pilot, driving itself ten kilometers from the beach, activate all its invisibility sensors and to stay underwater until he called it in the near future.
Satisfied with it, he then proceeded to board the taxi he called beforehand, going straight to the first Intercontinental Hotel ever set on Japanese soil. Due to the century-long reign of a certain class SS villain, the International High Council or dubbed as IHC had trouble expanding their territory, and only because he was defeated by All Might that they were able to install one of their settlements.
Carrying his luggage with him, he walked into the reception area, attracting a lot of attention, namely because the long black suitcase he was carrying. Because Japanese soil was considered new territory, plus the major influence that both Heroes and Villains held, the underworld didn't offer many major contracts, as they also have their fair share of vigilantes, so for them to see a new face to be seen strutting around was for the lack of better words.
A big deal
"Welcome to the Intercontinental sir. How may I help you?" a manager greeted him behind a desk, clad in a professional suit with the international hotel logo pinned on it.
"I wish to rent to rent a room" he smoothly said, putting down his baggage on the ground
"Of course sir. For how long?" the manager professionally replied, pulling out a tablet, which by the look of it, was a Samsung.
"A month, depending on business even more"
"Of course sir. Just let me know should you choose to extend your stay, and at last your name for the rent?" the manager tapped at astonishing speed
"Slade" he said without missing a beat while sliding across the table three silver coins
As soon as that word dropped out of his mouth, all activity around them ceased in an instant, as gasps and sudden intakes of air were filled the room, as everyone stared wide-eyed Slade, even the manager himself. But then, like all the staff, they were all professionals, and in a blink of an eye, everybody regained his composure.
With the same discretion they were handed to him, he discreetly pocketed the coins, and he slid to the mercenary a key latched to a card.
"Room 818. Do enjoy your stay Mr. Slade, it is an honor to have you here" the manager bowed
The mercenary silently picked it up and bowed back before picking up his baggage and proceeded to walk towards the elevator.
The manager saw him set off and chuckled, as he took out a very outdated phone under the counter, and pressed one button before whispering a single sentence
