Despite his lack of interest in style and decorations, as he preferred simplicity and efficiency above all, Slade couldn't deny the beauty of I-Island.

An island built in a joint effort between numerous support companies and nations, to provide every scientist in the world a safe and peaceful environment to continue their research and experiments, with its defense system being on par with the one of Tartarus and Olympus.

After receiving permission to land from the control tower, he maneuvered his personal hovercraft to the hangar that they designated for him. Toggling the control wheel and some buttons in the manner of a veteran pilot, he landed it. He then grabbed his gear and after one final check-up of the hovercraft systems, he descended from the rear of the hovercraft, through the cargo ramp, before using the manual controller to close it and turn off the whole hovercraft, inside the enormous hangar he was greeted by two flight inspectors, two security guards and to his surprise, the world-famous scientist, his host, David Shield.

"Mr. Shield, it's an honor to meet you" he spoke in flawless English.

"Slade! Call me David! The Mr makes me feel old" the man chuckled "The honor is mine! This is in gratitude for saving my daughter years ago!"

"It was nothing, David..."

"Nonsense! Come! I-Island and my daughter is waiting for you!" David laughed boisterously, and with unknown strength, dragged the surprised mercenary to the exit.

To say that Slade was amazed was understandable, as he now understood why this technological wonder was given the nickname "Scientist Paradise". The city itself, its architecture, feeling, were all futuristic, it is as if he entered a time machine and traveled 10 years in advance. Heck, even the trash bins were high tech!

David continued to laugh as he introduced the young man to different parts of the city, and despite the young age of the mercenary and his line of work, he found himself chatting with a fellow nerd, as they discussed different subjects, mainly the young man's amazing hovercraft.

"So you are saying that your hovercraft uses the air currents as a means to create a circular air current in the middle, without the need of a central rotor? instead of using the traditional boosters?" David Shield asked, intrigued, as they entered the lobby of the Central Tower

"Indeed, when I was constructing the airplane I thought of something that could fly without the need of taking off. At first, I thought of using a model similar to the V-22 Osprey, but then, the time for the two rotors to start rotating and the take off made me change my mind, so instead a came with the idea of manipulating the air currents with multiple smaller rotors, which are faster..." the mercenary complied

"Still, that would take a massive amount of energy to pull of?" David continued

"You are correct, but using the air currents that pass through the airplane I installed several fans that rotate, as their kinetic energy will be stored in an energy reservoir, added to that there are also several high thermal absorbent panels..."

"You sure you are not an engineer?" David asked amused

"Well actually no, but still I am something of a scientist myself..." Slade replied as to slowed having sensed a presence approaching them

"PAPA" an oddly familiar female voice shouted

Before they could turn around, a blonde cannonball collided with the scientist

"Melissa dear... What have we talked about running around?" David scolded her daughter

"Sorry... I'm just very excited and eager to see Uncle Might..." a blonde beauty blushed "and him... Wait! Has he arrived yet!? Did he accept the invitation?!" she blurted out nervously
