Jungwoo woke up to the lovely smell of food, making a smile appeared on his face. As he opened his eyes and took in his surroundings, everything came back to him and the smile was instantly removed from his face.
He let out a deep sigh before getting out of the bed and heading out of the room. He was surprised to see a brown haired girl standing by the stove, tasting the food that she was cooking. She nodded in satisfaction, placing the spoon down.
"Hayoung?" Jungwoo said, surprised to see her. Hayoung jumped at the sound of her name.
"Jungwoo! You're awake." Hayoung said, giving him a faint smile. Jungwoo nodded, placing his empty tea mug in the sink.
"Yeah. I thought you left." Jungwoo told her. Hayoung shook her head.
"No, I just went to go get some groceries. I sent you a text though." Hayoung told him.
"Oh, I haven't checked my phone yet." Jungwoo said, pulling out his phone from his pocket. Sure enough, Hayoung's text was there.
"Are you hungry? Dinner's almost ready." Hayoung asked him, just as his stomach growled.
"I guess that answers my question." Hayoung said. Jungwoo nodded his head. He picked up the sponge to wash the dishes in the sink but a hand stopped him.
"I'll do the dishes later. Can you get some utensils for dinner?" Hayoung asked him. Jungwoo slowly nodded, grabbing the utensils before making his way to the sofa where the small table was.
He sat down as Hayoung came over, the dishes in hand. Jungwoo had to admit, the dishes looked really good. It had been a while since he had a big homecooked meal.
As Hayoung set down a bowl of kimchi stew, Jungwoo had to look away as tears began forming through his eyes.
"Is something wrong?" Hayoung asked him, full of concern. Jungwoo quickly wiped his tears away before shaking his head.
"No, it's just that my mom always made that for me when I was little." Jungwoo admitted.
"Oh I see." Hayoung said before returning to the kitchen to grab the two bowls of rice. She placed one down in front of him before taking a seat beside him, her own bowl in her hands.
"Go ahead and eat." Hayoung said motioning to the food. Jungwoo was hesitant as he didn't have much appetite, but seeing the anticipaitng look on Hayoung's face, he decided to follow her orders and eat first.
Jungwoo took a small bite of the food and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was.
"Is it good?" Hayoung asked, observing his face. Jungwoo nodded his head before swallowing.
"Yeah, it's really good." Jungwoo said softly.
"Oh, you don't have to lie. You can tell me if it's not good." Hayoung told him, spooning some for herself. Jungwoo shook his head.
"No, it's actually really good." Jungwoo said, louder this time. Just to prove his point, he got more food for himself, shoving a large spoonful into his mouth, making a small laugh escape Hayoung's mouth.
"Okay, okay, I believe you. Eat slowly though, I don't want you to get a stomach ache." Hayoung told him. Jungwoo couldn't help but let out a small smile. This didn't go unnoticed by Hayoung.
"What's so funny?" Hayoung asked him. Jungwoo glanced at her and then back to the food.
"It's kind of hard to believe that you made all this motherly food while looking like that." Jungwoo said, referring to Hayoung's leather jacket.
