Eris and her ninja

Chapter 12

When we were back at his house Ninja just started freaking out after he took off his mask.

"Partners? PARTNERS?!"

"Randy..."

"WHY WOULD YOU TELL THEM THAT?!"

"Randy I wasn't lying. We ARE working on the monster attacks *pointing to him and myself* TOGETHER".

"But you don't get to make the decisions. This town only has one hero...ME".

"Well now this town has two heroes. With all the psychos and monsters attacking the innocent, I think its time the hero had some assistance in protecting people".

Randy turned to me. "Eris I've been nailing life as the ninja for two years now. I can take care of myself".

"Yeah I'm sure you knew Scorpio was going to try to kill you outside the school yesterday", I said with my arms crossed.

Randy lay his head down warily.

I walked up to him. "Randy why won't you accept my help?"

He was blushing red because our noses were just inches away from each other. I was guessing that he wished he had his suit on so he could hide his face expressions.

"Because you...I just don't want to see you risk your life for me. This is dangerous...",He tried to reason with me.

"You think I don't know that? In my time, things weren't all kittens and rainbows. The things I've seen mortals do to each other...how many died because of...",I looked down trying to hold back tears.

"I didn't know you lived that way...I didn't get a chance to say this earlier but...I'm sorry", he wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug.

Nobody has ever hugged me before. The only other person who tried comforting me was Sfiga my best and only friend.

I was frozen with shock by this act of affection. I then returned the hug. For the first time ever I felt comfort and warmth in my heart.

Randy started holding me closer and buried himself in my hair. I looked up at him then he looked deep in my eyes. I looked into his dark blue eyes. I froze when he leaned in closer to my face until our noses were touching.

"CUNNINGHAM! ERIS! I saw the news on TV and...woah did I interrupt something or....", Howard came in at the wrong time when we were sharing a moment. When he saw us holding each other we looked at each other then quickly parted.

"Nope...N-nothing's going on between us".

"Yeah its not like I'm into her or anything!"

"He was just apologizing to me about what happened earlier that's all".

Randy made a fake cough. "We should probably go to sleep and-".

Suddenly one of his books were glowing red. The book looked strange.

"Ugh the Nomicon's calling",Randy said looking at the book.

"The what?" I was confused.

"It's an eight hundred year old book that contains the knowledge of every ninja in existence, it knows everything".

"So there were others before you?"I pointed at Randy,shocked with this information.

"That's right", Howard answered.

Randy then opened the nomacon and passed out as if the book took his soul.

"Oh my gods! Randy! RANDY!" I tried shaking him but his eyes were open wide but he was still unconcious.

"Relax his fine! His soul will be in the Nomicon for a few seconds or minutes then he'll wake up".

"So this is normal?"

"Yes...its kind of annoying".

I looked at Randy who was unconsious. I'm starting to realize how close minded I have been for my entire immortal life.
