Eris and her ninja

Chapter 16

The next morning Randy woke me up. I was having a really good dream until this ninja kept doing gentle slaps on my face.

"Eris?"

I groaned trying to ignore him.

"Eris...".

I tried to face away from him sounding irritated.

(Randy starts shaking me by the shoulder)

"Eris!"

"Randy don't put me in a bad mood..." I was warning him.

"ERIS!"

"What! What Randy!"I snapped as I got up looking like a cranky child in the morning.

"C'mon golden eyes, don't you want to find out why your monsters are attacking my town?"

"...What?" I yawned.

"We're going to solve this case!"

I got out of bed and then there was a couple of questions I had in my mind:"Isn't that what I've been suggesting from day one?"

"What...noooo", Randy dragged.

I narrowed my eyes at him. Why did he want to do what I've been suggesting all of a sudden?

"I just figured that maybe if we find out what's making your little pets attacking the town then we can take it out and things can go back to normal".

"Yeah... that's what I've been saying since we first met!"

I can't believe Randy was taking ownership of my idea! This mortal's got some nerve.

I was about to scream when I realized that I should calm down. I really wanted to help Randy protect Norrisville. But then again this is strange because usually when I am angry with someone I won't talk to that person for days. There was just something about Randy that made me not want to hurt him. I don't know how to put it but he is just...what is happening to me?!

Then I decided to play along with whatever is going on here.

"Ok Ninja tell me what's the plan?"

"Well uh...we should..."

"...Go to Mcfist industries", I finished while smirking.

"Yes! And take him by surprise before we interrogate him".

"You're genius", I said with sarcasm, "Okay then let's go-"

"You should probably change first..."

When Randy and I finally arrived at Mcfist industries Randy secretly put his mask on. I transformed into my goddess appearance.

After transforming we went inside through the vents. As we were sneaking in I was feeling nervous. No wait... Saying I was nervous was actually an understatement. What if I wasn't going to like what I might see? What if my plan gets us killed?

Randy was crawling through the vent and I was following from behind. I kept thinking of how strange it was that he was braver than me. I am a goddess for crying out loud! Yet he is not afraid of risking his life but I am. Maybe it was because he had more experience in being a hero. But I didn't. I'm not as brave as him but I wanted to be. He was so good at protecting others. He clearly had more experience in this department. Back on Olympus I wanted nothing to do with the hero business. It didn't really interest me. But now all of a sudden I feel the need to protect others but I still feel scared of the fact that I have to risk my life everyday if I join him. But why should I join him? He can be a moron at times and when he is the ninja he tends to love getting praise and attention. I would never have associated myself with people like him. He kind of acted like Zeus. The most popular God in all of Olympus. But there's just something about him that makes him look like I feel safe when I'm around him. He's just... I don't know. But then again I never really answered the big question that I'm constantly thinking of since I met him. Why do I want to be a hero now?

Ninja stopped crawling and I almost bumped into him. Something must've caught his attention. He turned to face me then signalled me to come and look through the vent hole. I saw a plus sized man with a moustache that was a blonde colour. I noticed that he had something that replaced his natural arm and I'm not kidding when I say this but I thought I saw a brain in his arm. Next to him was a man of a much darker skinned colour. He was taller than the other man but he seemed to have actual hair on top of his head. They seem to be arguing over something so we tried to listen in on the conversation.

"I can't believe another monster couldn't destroy the Ninja! It was a giant bird! A honking bird! It should've done a better job than that pathetic insect!"

"Eris still has the better authority over her pets", A woman appeared wearing Grecian clothes. She had yellow skin, dark green hair and green eyes.

Oh no...I know her...

I looked at Ninja who seemed to be concentrated on all three of them.

"Wait wait...I thought you said those monsters belonged to you!" Mcfist yelled.

"I never said they were my pets. I just said that these monsters would be able to kill your nemesis but that was before I knew that a goddess would be the Ninja's ally".

"Well please tell me you know how to get rid of her", the thin dark skinned man said in a worried tone.

"We can't kill her".

"And why not!" The blonde moustache guy clearly wanted to hear a different answer.

"Only a god can kill another god, you two are mere mortals, I'm just an enchantress, but we can send her somewhere where she won't escape for the next five centuries".

"And where is this place?"

"It's a lot similar to a waste land".

As we were hearing all of this I felt the urge to stop them but something else was telling me to flee. But we continued to listen.

"But I can't send her there with that ninja protecting her".

"We have a plan! And the plan is... Viceroy?" He looked at the skinny man to remind him what the plan was.

"We lure the Ninja away from Eris into a trap, then as soon as he is trapped we find Eris then Circe can send Eris to wherever it is that she will send her".

"This is bad", Ninja whispered.

"Gee you think?" I whispered sarcastically.

"Okay you go left, I go right".

"What?"

"I said you go–"

"No I heard you I just don't understand".

"We're going to attack...take them by surprise".

"But how about we make a dramatic entrance together?" I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Great idea! Let's do that" he said without picking up my sarcasm.
